Pac-10 Power Poll: Can cougs climb out of the cellar?

I'll just go ahead and answer that now: No. But we do have our first week with over 10 points in the history of the Power Poll. So that's something.

As always, individual votes after the jump. We'd like to recognize ASU's own House of Sparky for, along with me, not thinking that the Cougs are the worst team in the conference at the moment.

Still the best team in the country. Question is: will they have another Stanford-type breakdown this year?

Off week should only help the Bears, who get a shot to rebound next week against Colorado State.

The Boise State Broncos are the best team in the Northwest. Ugh. Love the trick plays though.

We all knew Georgia would handle the Sun Devils. What becomes interesting now is the matchup with Cal in two weeks.

Was it an impressive win over UCLA, or is UCLA just that bad?

Pac-10 sleeper? The Cardinal can start 2-1 in conference with a win over UW. I'll be pulling for them.

I'm having a hard time remembering any season where all the excitement crashed and burned so quickly. We now know Tennessee is pretty bad.

Still ranked above WSU? Yes, most likely because the game against BYU should still be going to OT.

We love us some Lobster, but how about the rushing game? Over 7 yards per carry for Tardy and Ivory on Saturday.

Looks like ASU and Oregon are pretty objective, unlike the UW and OSU sights, which are looking through some tinted shades.

      Hmmm

How anyone can not believe Ucla is the worst team in the conference is beyond me. I mean, I get that there are a lot of disappointments throughout the 10 schools, but nothing I’ve seen from Ucla (including their win against Tenn) tells me they are anything but pathetic.

Even their so-called stout defense seems a sham. You guys definitely have a legitimate beef about wondering why you’re voted 10th. 9th, maybe.

      Go Bears!

      I dunno ...

At least UCLA has one good showing against a major conference team. Until the Cougs do something like that — I mean, they haven’t just been beaten by every BCS school, they’ve been outclassed — I can’t justify thinking anyone is worse than us.
