Say it with me
A win is a win is a win is a win.
Don't take a win on the road in the Pac-10 for granted. Just ask USC. Even if it wasn't as pretty as we would have liked, it's still a win. And we did it with just about everything going wrong most of the game.
I know we as fans like style points, but there's something to be said for winning a game you're supposed to win. No matter how it happens.
Thank God for Aron Baynes.

Amen!
We did the same thing last year when we struggled to get back in the win column. This team has tons of heart and never ever quits. They just keep working. What’s not to like about that? They found a way to win.
It might get a little easier if they would utilize the Big Bad Aussie a little more, that’s all I want to add.
I missed the entire game except for the last 15 seconds of overtime. First time all season.
So I will be relying on your guys’ analysis on this one. I know you won’t let me down…
Anyway, so what happened with Casto in this game… I glanced at your game thread and all I could ascertain was that he got two early fouls in the first half that relegated him to the bench and then he had two drops in the second half that had the same effect? What happened? We all have wanted Casto to get his minutes…
Tony basically did his best Dick Bennett impression
I think this game would have been decided in regulation if we had Casto in there, mainly for the rebounding.

by that I meant benching a freshman for mistakes
and not giving him another chance. Tony actually did this with Ivory Clark all the time too.

Dang it Tony. You have more patience with Koprivica than Casto!!!
And Casto is the freshman. Tony should have more patience with freshman players. Especially ones who have as much potential as Casto.
good point
Nik is just a turnover waiting to happen, and he continues to get minutes. aargh

Nik got very few minutes in the second half
He made that one turnover against the full court pressure — after just coming into the game — and Tony took him right back out. He sat on the bench for the rest of the game.
I actually clapped out loud when that happened
7 in a row, baby!

Casto
You pretty much have it all. Nothing much else to report. He didn’t get off the bench after those drops.
Man oh man
There were several times we had an opportunity to stick it to them, but just couldn’t. I was really sweatin’ it.
Can we please get a solid ball handler. I am really concerned that we TR goes we insert Thames and still don’t have a ball handler. I just want a guy who loves to dribble and pass. After watching Capers play significant minutes I about pulled my remaining hair out with his 3-5 dribbles and then the deer in the highlights I have to pass to somebody. Man, he doesn’t even think about scoring when he up top.
Who knew this guy could carry a team
He was making plays happen, not just feeding off of great passes. If he doesn’t get all Pac 10 there is something wrong with the world. (and there is because he won’t)
Baynes
Sorry, I was referring to the last line of Nuss’s post.

Well apparently he has made a turnaround since the Cal game.
He was absolutely terrible against Cal on the offensive end. And half the people on this site didn’t have the chance to see that.
Casto was concentrating in the 2nd half
and he should have been pulled. Nik came in for one play and turned it over and went back to the bench. I thought TB did a good job not over thinking this and teaching. I agree when we play OSU next time having Casto to deter the significant amount of penetration will help, but he just wasn’t using his head this game.
I'll have a post on this later, but in short, I totally agree
This was a case of Tony coaching the game that was in front of him, and doing a GREAT job of it. Yeah, we would have liked Casto because we all love him, but I think the few minutes in the second half were warranted. He just wasn’t needed in this one.
I meant "wasn't" concentrating
but I think you understood me. We he let an entry pass go right b/t his hands I knew his mind wasn’t in the right place. Tough call to make to keep him out because I think he would have really changed the game defensively, but we found a way to slow them down or least Coach Obama did!
