Coug of the Year First Round: #2 Kyle Weaver vs. #15 Nico Grasu

This really isn't fair to Grasu.

#2 Kyle Weaver

No explanation necessary.

#15 Nico Grasu

Clutch.

Grasu

I’m more than happy to admit I voted for Grasu!

Obviously, in their respective sports there is no contest who is a better player (Weaver, duh).

But have people forgotten what school we are from?? Washington State is a football school and there is nothing more important than winning the Apple Cup, period. Of course, that’s my opinion, but I really think that most long time traditional alums and fans would agree. Throw in the fact that Grasu is not exactly Jason Hanson or Drew Dunning, and I think the fact that he didn’t pull a Loren Langley is a major accomplishment!

As always,

Go Cougs.

I can buy that

I was mostly kidding and just curious. I’m just such an unabashed hoops fan, that I couldn’t see through my Weaver-colored glasses. That guy is a demi-god to me.

I was torn

This was the hardest for me so far. Scoring the winning field goal in the Apple Cup should take any player to the top. Then you have Kyle getting us to the Sweet 16, 2nd round draft pick and playing in the NBA. In the end I voted for Kyle because playing BB is harder than kicking field goals.

I dunno

I can play basketball, but I can’t kick field goals.

I thought about making this same comment.

But then again I have never attempted kicking a field goal.

I voted for Weaver

But it’s hard to argue with LACoug

I voted for Weaver

But Grasu should be more like an 8 or 9 seed. He deserved to see the second round more than a few others, simply because he created the best single moment in Cougar football since, … well,… since awhile.
