Depends on how many miles you think bowl eligible is
Is that the 1000 mile journey? Or is 1000 miles respectability? Or is 1000 miles back to where we were in 2003?
I suppose that’s the beauty of the question.
Sadly, I have a hard time being excited about the team next
year because I simply have no confidence in the guy at the helm. He clearly has brought in some talented guys, but so do a lot of coaches. What I am looking for is one of those games where we simply beat a team or almost beat a team we should get beat by.
It is funny alot of people said we would surprise a team or two this year, including Ted “UW homer” Miller. Maybe UCLA will give us that chance. Honestly, I just don’t know how we can. Our games are generally over by the 1st qtr. and if you ever have played sports it’s easy when you are way ahead to check out. I remember counting my pts in a bball game after the 1st qtr as we up by 30 pts or something crazy like that. I remember coach sitting to start the 2nd qtr and I felt like Mark Sanchez, someone get me a hotdog!!
If Nuss is a vase of daisies then I am the proverbial wet blanket, but I just lack confidence in the staff.
I don't blame you for feeling that way
Heck, even the Huskies are starting to feel that way. Remember how Sark and Holt were the greatest coaches on the face of the earth? Just four games later, people are starting to question their “gameday” coaching ability, just as we have with Wulff. What that tells me is that, ultimately, when you’re struggling to get back to respectability, it just comes down to players — both in terms of talent and execution. Give the players a chance to develop.
I think it’s just too easy to say that teams let up when they get a big lead. Oregon didn’t this year. No team we played last year did. We got mad last year because we felt like they were giving up. Now they fight back, but it’s not enough that they get behind early. I know that’s not what you want, but why blow off what this team is able to do after falling behind when that didn’t happen last year?
