Around SBN: Dana White Announces Koscheck vs. Hendricks for UFC on FOX

I'm sure Grippi will have more, but this is sweet. We really can't catch a break. If someone can figure out how to reverse our karma, please let me know.

It is becoming clear to me now.

Price, Doba, and company made a deal with the devil. Three straight glorious ten win seasons, followed by several seasons of tortuous mediocrity before the pitfall into becoming the worst BCS team in the land.

Curses!

I was thinking the same thing

The problem I couldn’t figure out was how to reverse the curse. Ryan Leaf is involved here somewhere, too. He has to be.

Yep, Coug minds think alike

I have been thinkin’ about a curse as well. Bland was never right this year from the start but he’s so tough he played through it. I have wondered about Wolfgramm as well because he hurt his back last winter (November?), had surgery, and it was reported he was still having trouble with it over the summer and he might not be able to go. So he has played but how much S&C was he able to get in from November through the summer?

It’s been a tough couple of years. Really a tough 4-5 years on the injury front. If there was a stat a bet we would be towards the top of the nation!

I really hope that the curse doesn't carry to basketball

We had a couple years of success which, in our world, seems to breed some rough years. And people wonder why Cougs can don’t look on the bright side sometimes….

I'll call it the V. Rawlins' curse and leave it that.

I can’t wait for the day when we analyze a game and we are not talking about how many points we will be down by the end of the first qtr. If I feel this bad, I can’t imagine what it was like for Praire View A&M.
Here’s to our 1st 3 offensive plays being fly patterns by Simone and Forzani!

That's tough

I started at WSU in 2002, so I saw the Rose Bowl and the Holiday Bowl win, and just caught the beginning of our downward slide. For me, it was totally worth it.

Here's the Spokesman link

Grippi’s blog

Basically we have a lot of injuries, still, including: Bland, Kooyman, Feagin, Mattingly, and others. Awesome

Lame

Kooyman, Monty, Bland… every player I get really excited about gets injured.

I feel like pre-emptively announcing a season-ending Jeff Tuel injury…

Really off topic

But any idea on when we would see the new cougar basektball uniforms (besides the white ones we’ve seen) ? Seems surprising to me they would hide them this long.

by MattPD on Oct 27, 2009 8:37 PM PDT reply actions

I saw those

That’s why I said “beside the white ones we’ve seen” already. Just curios how the crimson ones look and if they have any alternates, I’m guessing those haven’t been previewed yet and probably won’t be.

by MattPD on Oct 27, 2009 9:44 PM PDT up reply actions

Thanks for the insight

I wanted to see how they look and was curious if there would be any alternates. So unless somebody has any info on that, I guess we’ll leave it at “flipping the colors”.

On a seperate note, I’m never one to post on other teams forums, but I decided to browse the ND forums and see what they are saying about this game and they for the most part seem so down on their team that they think this game will be somewhat close.

Only one or two people even thought covering the -30 spread was even possible. It doesn’t mean anything other than their fan base is really insecure about their team, much like ours.

That's about as much as there is to it....

Nike does fairly basic basketball uni’s, nothing like the football ones. So we have a white set, as you’ve seen, with the crimson set basically being the same layout with crimson replacing white and white for the striping and lettering. They really aren’t anything fancy. The biggest difference is the fit of the jersey and the baggy shorts. Other than that, the design stays fairly similar in the switch.

by Brian Floyd on Oct 27, 2009 10:37 PM PDT up reply actions

Haha

I appreciate the help there, but I just was wondering if there were pictures of the crimson uniforms and if there would be any alternates. I’m aware of Nike’s style of basketball uniforms, they made the change to the baggy shorts, tight jerseys back a few years back with Syracuse at the Big East tournament and I’ve been counting the days until we dropped Russel.

Just looking for pictures and info of an alternate if there was going to be one, but it doesn’t appear that it is available.

by MattPD on Oct 27, 2009 11:09 PM PDT reply actions

There should be soon

I’m not sure if there will be any official unveiling (I doubt it), but they may very well be using the crimson ones in one of the first games around Nov. 14th. As for alternates, I’m curious as well. I think the biggest changes we had last year was alternates with different lettering. I know a ways back we also ran with Gray jerseys as well.
