LCSC four factors stats

Since I thought you all might be interested, and since I'm a total dork, here are the four factors from last night's exhibition contest against Lewis-Clark State College.

I don't know that there's anything super revealing in here, as exhibitions are a time when coaches often will do a lot of experimenting. However, it's probably worth noting that the pace of 68 possessions, while not blistering, would've been the second fastest tempo of last season. The higher tempo is especially striking when you consider how much slower the second half was when compared to the first half.

The rest of the stats are more or less what you'd expect, with one notable exception: That good offensive rebounding percentage by LCSC. The Cougs were the No. 2 defensive rebounding team in the country last year; get used to a lot more frustrating moments in that respect this year.

Also as you might expect, the second half was much better played across the board, and only some cooler shooting on the part of the Cougs really prevented the game from getting completely out of hand.

If you're new around here and have no idea what these stats mean, read this. If you continue to visit the site throughout basketball season, you're going to want to be familiar with them, because we're going to talk about them a heck of a lot.

My appologies ahead of time for stating the obvious...

… but WSU was outplayed (slightly, very slightly) in all other categories besides shooting.

That doesn’t seam to bode well. Perhaps it’s an early indication of youth. Or again perhaps since, like you say, this was only an exhibition, it could mean nothing at all.

Well, shooting is pretty important ...

Would you rather they have shot poorly and won this game going away with great offensive rebounding and free throw rates — two things unlikely to be sustainable?

Small relapse

WSU did have a better Turn-over percentage…
