The Cougs saw their run end on Maryland's home turf on Sunday. Terrapin forward Jasmyne Spencer scored the match's only goal in the 32nd minute.
WSU outshot Maryland 12-10 and had five shots on goal to the Terrapins' three. Maryland goalie Mary Casey performed well, saving five shots. Wazzu had chances late, with a couple corner kicks in the last ten minutes, but they could not capitalize.
Great season for the team, making the NCAA tournament for a second straight year and advancing to the second round. Thanks for giving Cougar fans something to be proud of ladies!
