Stay Optimistic!

Heres a reason to be optimistic for our future. This quote is from the Wenatchee head coach after last nights playoff game...

“He’s the real deal,” Devereaux said. “I’ve been coaching here for 15 years, and he’s the best quarterback I’ve seen. He reminds me a lot of Drew Bledsoe when he was at Walla Walla in the 80s. He’s a stud.”

Coug fans stay positive! Our coaches no how to recruit Things will get better.

I am staying positive

In the sense that I’m not really invested this year, and I know it will get better in subsequent years. Some day I will be rich (maybe) and can donate one million dollars but for now I’m okay saying “bring on basketball.”

Exactly.

At this point, I expect to get slaughtered every game. We just don’t match up in any way. Sad, but true. And honestly, the attitude is a little liberating.

All that said, we’ve GOT to show improvement next year.

My liver can’t take another season like this one.

positives

The Cougs aren’t losing all these games with a load of upper class guys who didn’t pan out. They are losing w/ youth who are earning a baptism of fire much like the ’98 ’99 2000 Cougs who gelled into something special; after a senior laden ’97 crew left us all watching in horror for 2 seasons.

The o-line will return everyone except Alfred. And Roxas will cover the center slot coming off his season long illness. He is a good cent BTW. So an off season of weights and drills w/ their QB and al the wideouts and RB’s save Tardy return. Depth will be better and experience is being had currently for all linemen.

D-line- the entire group will return. Luapo/Wulffgram/Turpin/Laurenzi/Spitz/Long/Hamlett and many more who have reps this year. Even Kooyman may get another year. Add Rankin the 4 star juco DE to that pile of bodies and give them another off season of iron and we may be able to hold the line. Experience is hard earned and they are getting it. If someone steps up from the RS ranks, more power to them- healthy competition is good for the team.

This team doesn’t lose many seniors or quality… because the simply don’t have them… 20 o-line guys and one leaves… it starts up front and they all return for the most part… I believe that with the of season and work out and training table regimen we will begin to see the true ‘future’ of Coug football. Go Cougs! Be hopeful…

If you can't Go Cougs... don't go.
