Harmeling Article is Great!
I saw this on Cougfan and I really enjoyed it. Sometimes I get irritated when former players and current players don't say it like it is: they just stick to talking about the game and don't address exterior elements. But Harmeling addresses the game, the Zag crowd, and the announcers. I love it! I hope he sticks around and takes Craig Elho's spot on FSN.

Line of the week
“Like any logical fan, I was disappointed with the outcome but that’s not what kept me up that night. I honestly lost sleep over this conundrum: who wanted Gonzaga to win more, Mark Few or Greg Heister?”
This column is so spot on. He even touched on a few items I had to leave out of my post because it was getting so dang long. This is a must read.
I liked this one
“Here’s my rule of thumb for trash talk: if the circumstances are out of a player’s control, it’s off limits. If the circumstances are in a player’s control (what ink you put on your body, your haircut, choices made off the court, your demeanor, etc.), then it’s game on”
Sounds like what we’ve been saying.
Not at all
But it’s also not a personal attack on him at all and I don’t think it crosses a line. He didn’t have to answer questions after the game about said butt sweat, while he did about being called all sorts of things that shouldn’t be repeated at Mac Court.
Points 4,5,6 under more observations were spot on
Going under the screens was the difference in the game and letting them slip screens for dunks didn’t help either.
Finally, and this wasn’t mentioned much here, the Goodson play was DIRTY and I mean DIRTY. One thing you can’t do in basketball is deliberately undercut a player going up. Remember Bruce Bowen getting hammered for closing out on shooters by putting his foot under where they’re going to land? Undercutting a rebound is one of the dirtiest things you can do. It’s a way to knock a guy unconscious, or worse. If you stopped listening to Ehlo and Heister calling it over the back, you see Goodsen throw his elbow and shoulder into Dee’s knees as Dee is already in the air. That should’ve been, by rule, a flagrant foul.
Yeah, I noticed that too.
He didn’t block out with his arms up like normal. He deliberately backed into Casto and was sticking his elbow into back into Casto to undercut him.
Yeah, I commented on it in the game thread
It was blatantly trying to injure the opposition. And that is not acceptable in any player.
Of course, you couldn’t tell the announcers that. To them, Casto was clearly over the back. I nearly threw something at the TV.
if it was called a flagrant like it shouldve been
Goodson gets tossed and we get to pick the shooter instead of them. Could have made a difference in that situation

True, but I think a flagrant call would have been a hard call for a ref to make
The normal flagrant call is on a breakaway and usually involves a player that comes from behind and dangerously fouls a vulnerable player.
This was in traffic with players flying all around and it was subtle what Goodson did. It was clear on the replay, but at game speed, I could see the refs not making the call.
Also, after seeing the replay, Ehlo did say that Goodson fouled him.
This all being said, it was a cheap and flagrant thing to do and next year I expect payback to be a bitch.
Looks like he read your article, Nuss.
