Ask a K-State Blogger

Hello, Cougar fans, this is TB from the SB Nation blog Bring On The Cats, dedicated to covering K-State.  I didn't get around to asking the moderators of this excellent blog if they were interested in doing an introductory Q&A so that both sides could learn a little about the opponent, so if you have questions about K-State, post them in the comments and I'll try to answer them periodically this afternoon.  We hope your fans who travel to Manhattan enjoy the trip, and are looking forward to a good game.

I think you mean Judge and Kelly

If that’s the case, only Judge is all that young (true freshman). Kelly’s a fourth-year junior. Regardless, yes, both of them are in the doghouse. The answer for Kelly is easy. He doesn’t box out and he’s not big on rotating on defense. That’s a good way to get Frank Martin looking like he did in the picture posted in the comments of one of the front-page posts.

As for Judge, he’s having a rough adjustment to the college game. He is going to be a great player, but he’s not used to playing against other ultra-athletic guys who are also well-coached. He’s having the same trouble Kelly is re: boxing out and playing help defense. But on offense, he takes too many bad shots, including a bunch of fadeaway jumpers. He’s a big dude and needs to go hard to the rim.

We'll carry the banner high!
