What comes from that is great experience -- even if you're not with the same exact team you're going to be with next year. All those guys have now played a lot of minutes up there and all of them will be more intimately knowledgeable, and trustworthy, about each other's experience level. You've got all those freshmen and sophomores who did all that playing, they only lose one guy (Vaughn Lesuma).

Jim Walden, speaking on the offensive line, in a nice free article at Cougfan.com. Definitely worth a read.

cool news...

hey thats a nice vote of confidencce going into next season that we are returning the core or our offensive line, i know that was one of our struggles last season and alot of the reason as to why Marshal blew out his knee, he took WAY too many hits. hey man what have we heard about that transfer from cal? James Montgomery i think his name was. When the news broke out that he was transferring it sounded like he was a pretty good prospect. Do you think he’ll get much PT?or will outshine Tardy, Mitz or staden for the starting position?I dunno cause i havent heard too much about him lately. If he is a solid rusher and we have returning experience on the O line this next cougar team could be a much greater rushing threat and not have to result to the pass to gain yards so much…

Honestly, I haven't heard a whole bunch

I know he mostly did work with the scout team last year, being ineligible and all. My guess is that he splits time with Tardy — there’s been a lot of rumblings that Ivory might not be back, and even if he is, he’s been a walking injury for three years. You might even see Sturdy get creative and figure out ways to get two of the three on the field at the same time, whether in two back shotgun sets or with one as a receiver.

Montgomery was reported to have 4.4 speed out of high school, although he’s a little heavier now. I don’t know what his hands are like, but at 5-10/205, it seems like he could be a candidate to line up in the slot or something.
