Casto its time to shine.

From what i have seen of his play ive come to the conclusion is young but has tremendous upside. And yes he may turn the ball over and lapse on defense at times. But he also is arguably the most athletic player on the team. And personally i think he is a force around the basket blocking almost every shot in sight. And he adds of a bit of flare and attitude this being something the cougs lack. I feel that he should get more minutes.

Star-divide

Now my proposal is that casto gets more minutes. He needs game time to develop cause how it is now maybe he should of just redshirted. So the solution is out him at Small Forward. Yes now you may argue with this. but imagine this line up. Rochestie, Thompson, Casto, Forrest, Baynes. Scary huh.. makes we drool at the thought of this. now if you look at Casto you may think he is too big to play small forward. at his size 6'8 229 pounds he isnt much bigger than most of the top SF in the NCAA(about a good 10 pounds on average). But then the questions arise about the shooting touch needed to play the position. According to scout.com He has a "nice three-point shooting touch." something he has not even tried in a game. Im curious to see if casto can play at the SF and Adapt and learn the game from experience instead of from the bench where he sits being wasted. So i say bring him off and send Koprivica back where he belongs.(no offense but he just cant shoot and doesnt slash enough) plus rochestie needs someone to run alley oops too besides forrest.(who is playing amazing as of late!)
So lets give him a chance to shine and see if he can help the team and himself in a new way. I Beleive Casto is the future and will come up big if put in the right places!

So lets get him off the bench and on the court dazzling us with he ability.

thank you.

Well put

A couple blocks per game are worth the learning time on offense. His plus/minus is pretty good I think, but BigWood would know for sure.

Go Cougs! Beat the “fight on” out of them!

Interesting line up

I would be interested to see it tried out. The problems I see with that line up though is that if the other team has 3 guards or even two quick quards and a quick forward or two, the Cougs couldn’t keep up. Or even worse, if the other team has 3 or more outside shooters. Forrest, Casto and Baynes are not going to defend the 3 very well. Then who gives these guys a break? You would then have to play Enquist or Boeke more as well to give the 4 and 5 breathers. I guess Nik or Harmeling could give the 3 some breaks, but the less those two play the better. At this point in the season though, try them all.

The big problem

is that the Cougs run a motion offense. The 3 has to be a guy who can do pretty much what a 2 can do.

Yeah.

You’re not satisfied with Nikola’s slashing to the basket? I don’t think Cast would do better in that field.

no im not.

he shoots poor and averages about 4 points a game when he is given 20+ minutes a game.
casto would at least be productive

Actually, a lot of people around this site have been calling for a Taylor, Klay, Aron, DeAngelo, and Caleb lineup...

But the difference is that they see Forrest as the ‘3’ because he has shown us his ability to shoot the outside shot and even the 3-ball this season. We have yet to see Casto shoot an outside shot.

If you have the opportunity to see Casto in person, I don’t think it would seem logical to play him in a back court role.

hmm

this is true but i just see casto having to due to his athletic ability and quickness something sadly forrest doesnt have much of.

Casto is a Beast!

One heck of a performance today against UCLA his crashing the boards to gather the offensive rebounds afer the misses was amazing, his efforts to go up strong after some of those misses were just as key as TR’s clutch play..Casto has alotta heart and detrmination..and hes fun to watch
