I've seen them in person

and we are going to work them over. It’s interesting to see how low we are seeded. It doesn’t make much sense. Our guards are faster and better “lock-down” defenders and there is no way Omar Sanham is going to even threaten Baynes. Give Baynes 20 & 10 now.

Patty Mills ...

I’d like to introduce you to Mr. Capers.
(there’s a reason why he wears #0 … because you get NOTHING!)

Woo hoo

Let’s show the WCC how much they suck.

Really it looks like a good matchup

by selahcoug on Mar 15, 2009 6:14 PM PDT reply actions

ESPN2 too !

I think thats better coverage than ESPNU. I’m going to drink in the idea of watching them play again, and against St Mary’s almost like a second shot at the zags. I’m off to watch the coug show.

Take that Tom Hansen

We’ve broken free of the FSN stranglehold for at least one game.

Also I get ESPN2 in HD

and ESPNU I do not. Just saying… :-)

Looking Ahead

If we get past St Marys, looks like we get a match-up with Davidson and Stephen Curry

The only thing better than this right now....

would be a Jim Moore column to cap it all off.

Can you imagine how excited our seniors are to get this opportunity. I bet all of them are chomping at the bit to get a shot at St. Mary’s. This is so darn cool!

Not saying you guys here at CougCenter aren't fun to read....

No way, no how I’m saying that.

Get your gear packed men. We’re headed to S. California again. Aron, show em a little Thunder from Down Under. Taylor, get ready to put that 2-11 in the past. Klay, you’re playing at home again. No classes, how sweet. Have some fun. Kick some butt! Go Cougs!!!

Moraga - Not SoCal

St. Mary’s campus is in the secluded confines of the east Oakland Hills. Fancy Shmancy! And this might help some of the readers – their gym is not much bigger than the old Terraceum at MTHS

by HitKing69 on Mar 15, 2009 7:47 PM PDT up reply actions

Seen them on espn before

it has terrible lighting too

Terraceum at MTHS?

I should have checked out the location first. If we get past SM, does that mean we travel back to either NC or SC for the next game since we’re the lower seed?

I believe that’s how it works

It's going to be nice to see us play some non-Pac 10 teams

gets old knowing exactly what to expect after a while!

With the cougs being a 7 seed

I really think we have to thank USC for this. If they would have lost the tourney and missed the NCAAs, they more than likely would have taken our NIT spot.

Good point

Also Mississippi State

I'm not sure

If a team gets into the NCAAs it just drops one more team down to the NIT.

Nitology and others had USC as a high NIT seed, and MSU being a little above us. Depending on how the selection committee was looking at things, we might have been a 6 seed ahead of MSU if they hadn’t won their tourney.

Some idiot on ESPNU just picked the Zags to the final four

He should not be allowed on television

The thing is

once you pick an upset or two along the way, you kind of get yourself locked into situations where teams you wouldn’t initially think would make it get in somehow.
