Sources have confirmed that Washington State coach Tony Bennett is Virginia’s new men’s basketball coach.
I can't even fathom this as a possibility right now. Grippi hasn't posted anything to his blog yet, and the athletic department is mum.
All I can say is, pray this isn't true. We'll post more info as we find it.
EDIT 3:01 p.m.: The Spokesman-Review has a story that says it's confirmed, that he had a meeting with the players an hour ago. I am absolutely stunned and shocked, and I can't even process this right now.

Just to summarize
Our play by play announcer has cancer (get well soon), we just graduated our last starters from two NCAA tournament teams, and our coach is leaving to be bottom of the barrel in the ACC.

I can’t even find the words to explain how I feel.
Calling this 'confusing' is the understatement of, well, forever.
After all the worrying after last season’s Sweet 16 run that Tony would bail – it’s as if he cradled Cougar Nation in his arms, and said “Do not fret, my children. Money is not important. I love Pullman. I love being a Coug.” And all was better. Some of us were confident he’d be around for a couple more seasons at least, some thought he’d be the Coach K of WSU. I was in the former category – calling myself ‘realistic’. WHAT IN THE HOLY BLUE HELL!?!?!?!?!??!?!!?!?!??!

This just in, Dick Bennett is coming out of retirement to resume
playing golf. I thought I would lighten the mood. Please do not bash UVA, we are no where near the program that they are and still can be.
If you really think about it Nuss, last time this year, we were all saying the TB wouldn’t leave for UI but would at least stay through this year because of TR and Baynes. Well it happened and your pissed. I understand, but c’mon we saw it coming last year.
