Players 'shocked' by Bennett's departure

Grippi has filed a brief story with a couple of comments from players, and they're pretty telling. How about this gem from Marcus Capers?

In the end it’s a business decision for coach Bennett and he has to look at for his family and what he thinks is best,” freshman guard Marcus Capers said. “I’m not mad on that part, but he told my mom he was going to stay here so I’m a little hurt by that.”

And then there are these from Klay Thompson, who may or may not be sticking around:

I’m disappointed, I’m really disappointed,” Thompson said. “Shoot, I don’t know. But it’s life. I’ll adjust. As far as my future, I don’t know what I’m going to do. I’ll see who they’re going to bring in.”

You know all that talking we were doing about needing a guy or two to tranfer to make the scholarship situation tenable? Yeah, that might come about a lot faster than any of us imagined.

If Klay or DeAngelo leave

Then we are right back where we were before the Bennetts. Bare cupboards, so identity, probably playing in front of an empty stadium. If there was a way to communicate to the players how much it would mean to us if they stay, I would. But at this point, since their coach showed them no loyalty, I can’t see why they would show loyalty to the school or the fans.

that was meant to say no identity, not so identity

Can’t expect my spelling side of my brain to work when everything is consumed with “Why God, Why”
