I honestly have been looking for a reason to resent him less now that we're about 32 hours into this thing, and I have yet to find one. Stories like this don't help.

I used the throwing up in my mouth thing in my column, which I wrote before I saw this.

Of course it’s a pretty obvious reaction when you think about it.

Maybe he was just legitimately impressed with Virginia. Maybe Virginia is just so awesome that it surprised him. I mean, in Virginia the streets are paved with gold and it rains beer…

Seriously though, some of the stuff he said about how he thought he left Wazzu in a good position seemed genuine enough to me.

It's hard not to read too much into what he's saying

But when he says things like “this was an opportunity to compete and to do something special,” does that mean he became convinced that he couldn’t do those things at WSU? Again, you don’t want to read too much into stuff, but geez — that’s what it sounds like.
