Watch Tony's press conference here
It starts at 10 a.m. PDT -- about 5 minutes from now. There's a link to the video on the main page.
I really don't want to watch this, but I feel like I have to, and many of you probably do, too. Kinda like going to a funeral -- part of the healing process.
Consider this an open thread to talk about the press conference. This is, without a doubt, the final time we'll feature Bennett on this front page for a very, very long time.

I can't get over the Junior/Bennett comparisons
I honestly feel like I did that day when I watched his first press conference in Cincinnati.
Yeah that was painful
I can’t watch hear any of the sound because I don’t have speakers for my work computer, and apparently plugging headphones directly into the monitor doesn’t work.
This is where per game statistics go to die.
CougCenter
thought the same thing
and then had the same self-response!

Yeah, we'd be here all day if we pick at every comment.
We’re just going to have to take everything at face value. What else do we expect them to say?
Probably
But I think the fact that is was Virginia had a lot to do with it too, as opposed to something like VaTech or NC State

obviously
what do you expect him to say? This isn’t his farewell to us, even if it’s our farewell to him.

well, no
one of the reasons I’m still mad at him

"Might've been a little bigger" thank 60-58
Clearly, he’s not real concerned with making us feel better about this. I have a hard time with the fact that he doesn’t have a little more compassion for the mess he’s left in his wake.
I dunno
It sounds like it was an emotional decision for him to leave as much as a logical decision, everything “felt like it fit”
Honestly I think Virginia is everything Tony wanted Wazzu to become (charter flights, high academic standards, better facilities) as well as having the small town qualities he already loved.
Tony says
he was leaning towards going when he came back, I thought he was leaning towards staying?
What did Moore Ask?
His article was pretty biting yesterday and he doesn’t normally shrink away from hard questions.
If I remember, he just asked if he felt like he was backtracking on things he said
A topic near and dear to Jim’s heart, obviously.
Pullman is not a hotbed for basketball telent?
Obviously he hasent been to a Lincoln Middle School bball game to see that raw talent.
Can you post Bennett's press conference?
I wasn’t able to watch it. Is there a chance you can post it on CougCenter so I can see it? I need to see it to heal my wounds. To be honest I am ready for Ken Bone to get here and my wounds might already be healed. I really just want to hear the John Wooden comment and laugh. The ACC makes me sick.
K-Bone!!! The guy is from Snohomish and he wants to stay in the NW. Sterk sign him up. I am ready for the press conference. We need to get coach asap, so we can keep our recruites, like Thames. We need a another point for next year. Bone is our man! Like a glove!!!
At least he encouraged the recruits to continue to WSU
He basically said he’s not going to ask any of them to follow him. That’s good. I would really hate him if he did that.
Yes...unlike that sleazeball Kelvin Sampson..
I can’t stand that guy…and I met his sweet mom in Sacramento two years ago at the NCAA Tournament. She is still a WSU fan she said.

Thats nice that he encouraged the recruits to still go to WSU
I didn’t expect him to tell them to follow him or anything, but it seemed very genuine.
Well, at least there was one nice thing to take away from Tony
His last answer really helped, he said he was encouraging all the incoming recruits to stay at WSU and honor their committments. It definitely sounded like he wasn’t trying to get them to come with him, like that Calipari guy is doing at Kentucky.
