Let's talk replacements for Chadwick/Boeke
I was looking through the recruiting databases and there are a couple of committed to other school guys, that don't appear to have signed LOI's yet. The new LOI signing period starts here shortly. Any way there are two that look like possibilities for Bone.
One is Angus Brandt, who was being recruited by WSU, but there didn't appear to be any openings at the time. He is a native Australian and ended up committing to Oregon State.

The other is a Washington kid who from some articles I have seen, may have been recruited by PSU, so Bone may be familiar with him. He has size, but looks to have committed to N. Illinois. His name is David Wink. I know nothing about him other than the stuff listed on the recruiting websites.

Anyone else have any possibilities?

I actually vote no replacements in '09
If Chadwick stays de-committed and Boeke doesn’t clear the medical stuff, I say the two free scholarships go to…. no one.
Why? Because Bone needs to get quality players who fit his system into WSU. Since most commits are already made for next year, he needs to focus on his first full recruiting class, which would be 2010. If he does that, he can get three good players in. Perhaps more importantly, we can start to balance out the classes a little bit, since Tony left us a roster full of freshmen and sophs.
Now I know we still need to fill out a roster
So let’s float those scholarships to Enquist and Allen for the year.
I'm on board with this.
But if the right kid is still out there, don’t hesitate to pull the trigger in order to conserve schollies. However, at this point that kid’s probably long gone.
They can if they want
A scholarship is a year-to-year proposition. They can tell a kid, “Hey, we’ll put you on scholarship this year, but we’ll have to revisit the situation next year.”
There is the chance
that we lose Boeke and Thames along with Chadwick. That is three open scholarships. I understand wanting to save them to spread out later, but it seems that we should use at least one of the three to potentially bring in someone. I’m sure Brandt will end up at OSU, but he wouldn’t be a bad pick up. He reminds me a little bit of what Baynes was as a Freshman … besides the obvious Aussie connection.
Going forward, do we need another big man? Is Casto going to play center? Or will we transition into a 3 guard 2 forward offense like much of the Pac-10? I think having Baynes was key to our slowdown offense, defense because he was really the only true center in the conference.
