New info on the apple cup move:

Good on the Evergreen for getting this info
But I’m slightly confused:
General admission tickets would increase slightly, to around $60, Sterk said. WSU would not have control over the sale of those tickets, nor any of the advertising for the game.
How would WSU not have control over those GA tickets? Are there going to be leftover tickets that are going to be available to anyone? (Say, in the Hawks Nest?)

that sounds very odd
I thought it was supposed to be a 50/50 split.
imagine the hawks nest intermixed with cougs and dawgs. Cheap seats, beer, cats and dogs sitting together. Mass hysteria. On second thought it sounds fun

I doubt they will serve beer
Remember, you’re not supposed to have fun watching college football.
Although, in the anti-booze lobby’s defense, I had been drinking during Gonzaga/UNC and found it very difficult to stay focused. What with the blowout and all.

Thanks
Good news for the students, especially if the AC is always held when the students are “home on the West side” for Thanksgiving break.
Now lets see how the season tickets get distributed / price raised.

By the way, if this is accurate, this means your sports pass will get you into every Apple Cup in your four (or more) years at WSU
I know there are downsides to this deal, but this is most definitely one of the upsides.

That is a good upside
I remember the lottery for Seattle tickets, winning the lottery and getting to buy two tickets at a decent cost for a student. It would have been nice to get to go every year to the game. Maybe it doesn’t make up for moving the game, but it’s something.

They had the lottery my freshman year
Then they did an online sale my junior year. That was awesome. I put 25 bucks away hidden in my room so I wouldn’t touch it all year. This is pretty good for a guy with terrible money management skills inherited from his parents. That group of students of 1000 students was awesome. We were in the endzone by the lake and we were an absolute nuisance. I knew one of the UW cops and he offered to let me stand on the sideline, but I was having so much fun in the student section I stayed.

We camped out all night in sub freezing temperatures for Apple Cup tickets in 1997
So worth it.
