So religion is one of those hot-button things I like to avoid on this blog. Much like politics, or non-sarcastic praise of the Washington Huskies. There's just too many things that stir the pot. Sports are fun because we can escape all that and join in our mutual affection for the same team. Regardless of what we think outside the arena.
However - in my years here in Pullman, I've seen a lot of pro-religious and anti-religious opinion columnists in the Evergreen write a lot of pieces with flawed logic and arguments that were ripped straight from the mouths of their favorite CNN or Fox News pundit.
That's why Robbie Cowgill's take on religion in this letter to the Daily Evergreen is so damn refreshing. It's thoughtful, well-laid out, and generally different. Respectful to the guy he's writing about while making a logical point.
Maybe I'm viewing the world through crimson-colored glasses, as I still view Cowgill as most Coug fans do, but it's a well-written piece. All from a guy who basically got slandered for an entire year from Evergreen readers who didn't take the time to research or understand what exactly happened in that whole multicultural center "incident".
Good work, Robbie.
