You can watch the press conference live here, and discuss it below. I'm smiling right now.
EDIT, 1:36 p.m.: The presser is actually on FSN right now. I don't know if they'll carry the whole thing.

Does anyone remember
that guy who played football at louisville and graduated at 19 and was drafted 1st round? That’s crazy.
I'm 20 and going to be a senior
his birthday is prob. between now and august, like some other juniors.
He wants to be here for a long time?
[Try not to be cynical … try not to be cynical … try not to be cynical …]
Definately
Most previous coaches only came here as pretty much a last resort
Enjoyed the back and forth between Nik and Bone
Nik talked up what he liked about Bone, and Bone cut in stating Nik earned himself a lot of playing time
Nik thinks an up and down system will better suit him than Bennett's system?
I hope that was a joke …
Well it makes sense...
He was a captain on his youth Serbian (i.e. Euro) team… it’s the kind of basketball that he watched growing up, etc…
The contrast between this news conference and the Virginia conference is so striking
So much pomp and circumstance with Bennett. This is low key, right down to the phone malfunctions.
Angie Mentink is the worst!
I can’t put my finger on it, but she drives me nuts as a viewer. I think she is a bad reporter. I watched her interview Griffey and he could wait to get done. I want Erin Andrews…lol.
Thought it went well
My online feed froze up a few times so I missed bits and pieces, but overall I thought it was good. I got the feeling that he may stick around a long time, but after the last coach, I will believe it when I see it. Overall it was a positive press conference I think.
That's pretty much how I felt
It wouldn’t shock me if he decided he wanted to stick around for a long time — after all, the guy was at a Division II school for 12 years, so upward and onward isn’t necessarily his M.O. But, he might not.
The one thing we have going for us is that he’s never going to be the sexy young hire. He’ll be in his mid-50s before anyone would want to pluck him, and let’s face it — he’s kind of a goofy guy who isn’t exactly (and I mean this in the nicest possible way) camera friendly the way a guy like Tony Bennett is. He’s just a no-nonsense, straight shooter who can flat coach.
Any chance we schedule Virginia....
in a little home and home action? Wouldn’t that be something to look forward to? Just saying….
First overall impression
I think that at least personality wise, we made the right choice. I liked what he had to say about his coaching style, and it was good to hear how excited Nik was about him. Hopefully the current players and recruits feel the same way as Nik when they talk to him.
About the staging or setup...
We need a more “professional” look in my opinion. It looks thrown together and should be much better.
I liked what Bone said…although I didn’t hear the “I want to be here for a long time” part. The feed kept quitting on me. I hope we all know that this is just coachspeak by now.
Just thought of this...
but I think we can recruit short players that can get to the rim and shoot the 3 well now that Tony is gone. No more height restrictions! haha
find the video
anyone know where i can find a post of the video, aside from cbs? – i can’t download the application because it’s my work computer.
yes...
you have to download the microsoft silverlight plug-in. i was hoping just to find it posted somewhere.

I know it is ridiculous to say, but
every time I see Bone, he reminds me of Jack McBrayer (Kenneth the Page from 30 Rock). This is not a diss; this is a total compliment.

haha!
My first thought was he looked a little like Detleff Shrimpff (sic), but now I realized it was actually Kenneth that I was picturing! LOL.
