LET THERE BE REJOICING IN THE STREETS
Why? Because you will never, NEVER see this man on a Pac-10 court again.
In case you're not smiling wide enough already, here's a little comic relief for you from the WCC news release:
"I am very excited to add David Libbey to our West Coast Conference team and I am confident that his energy, work ethic and passion for officiating and the WCC will immediately enhance our officiating program," WCC Commissioner Jamie Zaninovich said. "While David's on court success speaks for itself, he has also served as a dedicated mentor to younger officials for many years and has shared his passion for the game and officiating to help develop the next generation. I am happy he will now serve this vitally important role as our new Coordinator of Men's Basketball Officials."
Notice that "energy, work ethic and passion" are the requirements for the job, not actual officiating skills. Libbey lucked out in that respect.
Libbey gets a raise, he never officiates another one of our games ... it's just a win-win for everyone.

I was a little harsh in my judgment....
I didn’t like the way he carried himself on the court. And being a little disallusioned with Pac-10 officiating in general, I took out my frustrations on this guy. Very seldom have I ever commited an official’s name to memory. This guy just sticks out. No Call Hall does as well.
I don't remember this guy ever screwing our basketball team over...
But perhaps I put that out of my memory…
Can anyone offer up any instances where this guy cost us a game?
However, I do remember another negro fellow with slightly darker skin, a bald head, a big scar across his face and who was a little over weight. I’m pretty sure that was my least favorite official these last two years that I’ve been able to attend the men’s basketball games…
Does anybody know which guy I’m talking about?
It wasn't necessarily that he ever cost us a game
As much as he is just an absolutely terrible, terrible ref. He really tries to impose himself upon each and every game that he is a part of.
