Cougs eliminated by Oklahoma
This was not the guy the statistics told me about. Garrett Richards completely dominated the Cougs today, going the distance. His control was pinpoint. His curveball was working for strikes and his fastball was giving Wazzu fits. WSU struggled to get the ball out of the infield, save for two run homer by Matt Weber in the top of the 2nd.
The game stayed close until the bottom of the 7th, when a grand slam put the score at 7-2 OU. Oklahoma was hitting the ball hard all day, but was victim of their own giant ballpark, until that shot. Freshman starter David Stilley gave a valiant effort, going into the 7th.
Great season for the Cougs. We'll be back with more later.

Great season
No shame in losing to a Top 25 ranked team on their home field. WSU had an exceptional season, and Marbut has put together a program that should be back many more times in the future.
I’m still stunned OU lost to Arkansas. The Razorbacks have a golden opportunity to win this regional.

Agreed, great season.
WSU’s foot is in the door of the NCAA tournament now. It will mean a lot for the players coming back to know what the experience is like… a la the Beavers getting into the post-season and getting to Omaha in 2005. They went two and out in Omaha that year, but look what they did in the next two.
Still, though, great season. You guys sure had our number in the season series.

Tough loss WSU
Good season though. You won the mythical “NorPac” championship, which had been OSU’s for a while. See you in Pullman in the fall for football. LESS THAN 100 DAYS!
I support Takimoto in his effort to support Roger Kieschnick in his quest to becoming the best Kieschnick ever to play professional baseball.

I'd just like to beat the Sooners when it counted in any sport...
Of course, the only reason they are as good as they are in sports is their proximity to Texas.

I loved watching these guys....
They put WSU back on the baseball map and I am very grateful for that.
BTW – Ohio State lost 24-8 in their first game, came back to win two games, and is now getting whomped 35-4.
We had a great season. I wish those that go on to pro ball the best of luck. I will be keeping a watchout to see who gets drafted and where.
