Mackay seriously injured in one-car accident
This has been out there for a few hours, but I wanted to pass it along in case you haven't seen it. Mackay was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle after falling asleep at the wheel and crashing last night. He's been described by the hospital as in "stable" condition.
Mackay is considered a rising star in the program, a defensive end repeatedly singled out for recognition this spring. That seems a long way off now -- let's just hope he's OK. His dad reportedly says he's got a broken back, but no spinal cord damage. Let's hope that's accurate.

Just a sad sad situation
My prays go out to Cory and his family. You just hope his strength will help him to pull through and to have a full recovery in time. I simply hope he is able to live a normal life after all of this. It is great to hear he is in stable condition and doesn’t have spinal cord damage.
Thanks for the info Nuss. The first I had heard of any real details.
This one hits home
For those that haven’t picked it up from earlier posts, I’m a teacher. Well, cat’s out of the bag now, I work at Eastlake, Cory’s high school. He is a great kid, I was so excited when he recommitted to the Cougs (with an assist from one of the EHS assistant coaches his senior year) and was really looking forward to watching him play for the Cougs.
