The best laid plans of mice and men blown by EA Sports
So all that anticipation over the new WSU football uniforms? That giant uni unveiling at the Tri-Cities Tailgate next Friday night?
Yeah, completely blown by EA Sports. Check out Sedihawk's excellent work at the WSU Football Blog -- complete with screen captures -- by clicking the link above.
I'm sure Grady will have his completely dorkified breakdown of the unis later tonight, but feel free to post your thoughts here. Me? I like them.

I like them too.
Not too much of a change and they got some gray in the road unis. They also lost the multiple stripes on the pants, which I also like. I only hope Nike gets the Crimson right.

Not bad
I like the gray stripes. I’m glad they aren’t crazy.
I never really liked the old tagline.
CougCenter
How did the Athletic Department not know about this?
Were they just hoping that Coug fans don’t like to play EA sports video games, or were they completely unaware? Seems like a better idea would have had the jersey “unveiling” happen before EA launched this new program!
I never really liked the old tagline.
CougCenter
indeed
it’s their own damn fault for not unveling them during the “spring game” or whatever.
i think the thing in tri-cities will still be special.
i’m already anxious to see how the swoosh messes up our hoops unis (although i wasn’t a big fan of the ones from the past couple years anyway….)
If this is legit then I am happy
I am glad we didn’t get any Denver Bronco looking jerseys. I like the crimson helmet with the gray facemask. It looks more old school. I like it. Kinda reminds me of Alabama’s helmets, without the white stripe down the middle. I love it when colleges keep their jerseys simple and not to crazy like Boise State and Oregon, but I do find Oregon’s interesting. Someone has to mix it up, but I am glad it is not us.
Also, the jerseys are clean and not to crazy.
Thanks, Nike for not making us look like an Arena league team, NFL Europe or a CFL team.
I do like them
Still simple, which is my favorite, but just modern enough. I like uniforms that still look good when you look at a picture 10-20 years later. I still cringe at those hideous Gesser unis from the Rose Bowl season, and those basketball unis that said “STATE” across the front. Yuck. KISS — keep it simple, stupid!
I do hope they go all crimson at home. I’m not usually a fan of the matching jersey/pants, but with the stripes on the pants and sleeves, I think it breaks it up enough for my liking.
I'm a little curious about the white jerseys....
And how that ‘shading’ will look. Did anyone else notice it? Is it just part of the photo and that’s it? It looked to me it would be in the stomach area, the small of the back and on the sides under the arms connecting the stomach and small of the back. It’s not quite the diamond-plating the Ducks use, thank goodness, but it was noticable to me.
Everything else looks really crisp and clean, like I hoped it would. I love the Cougar cursive helmets that they wore during last year’s Apple Cup.
One other thought. I wonder if we will ever see an all-white look with the pants and jerseys. I don’t remember seeing it, but since we haven’t been televised every weekend the last few years, maybe it’s something I missed.
That shading is weird
I’m hoping it’s just to distinguish a larger mesh or something from the main material, so that in real life we don’t have some weird shaded thing going on. Still, they look better than I was willing to hope they would coming from Nike, lets hope they are the ones we actually win a Rose Bowl in.
not a big fan of the crimson helmets
they remind me of the lambright-era Huskies with their grape-heads…other than that, i’m ok with the new uni’s….although they look a LOT like USC’s uni’s.
it also looks like they forgot to add the cleat marks on the back of our jerseys….heyo!

I think
the jerseys are good, not great. But what makes them way better than years prior is all the different combinations that are possible. If they use them interchangeably like OU does then my grade goes from a B- to an A-. We could do all whites, and all sorts of other cool stuff.
