The State of Washington to be featured on ESPN's College football live
ESPN's college football live is in the middle of a 50 states in 50 days promotion. During the show they pick a state (Or two, or half a state, depending on the size) and interview analysts, players, coaches, ect. to talk about the upcoming college football season. For example, today was the second half of their focus on Texas and Mike Leach of Texas Tech on to talk about the season.
Anyway, Tomorrow (Wednesday) is Idaho and Hawaii day and Friday is Washington day. They are also having sportsnation vote on various things here. This is probably going to be very Husky-centric, but it'll be nice to see the "Experts" talk about how bad they think WSU is going to be. ESPN College Football Live airs at 12:30 on, well, ESPN. Here is the full schedule.

best state-of-washington teams
where are the 92 cougs in the poll?
The Best Coach in history
Lone Star Dietz … totally left of the list
it will be a UW lovefest
After seeing the ESPN polls I have a feeling they will love on UW’s new coach and say this is a up and coming program, then spend the last 2 minutes saying how bad WSU will be. ESPN sucks, they probably don’t even know were Pullman is.
According to ABC
Pullman is right outside Seattle
nobody on the east coast knows anything about washington outside of seattle
I saw a Daily Show episode a few years ago where they said they “took the I-5 from Seattle to Spokane.” I’d love to know how to do that…

I have watched a few of these
and they actually do a really good job of talking about all the programs, including the small teams like EWU. I think they will interview somebody from both schools, but that’s just a guess. Those polls were ravaged by huskies though.
But can any of those short of
best player be seriously argued. Outside of blind loyalty the split of the NC by the 91’ Huskies and the run by Don James can’t really be 2nd to any of the other options.
I think it’s a toss up between Emtman and Bledsoe, since both were amazing college players (maybe even an edge to Bledsoe for the excellent pro career). I’m a diehard Husky, but rationally, I really don’t think it’s close as far as the other two are concerned.
You’re probably right about the Husky love fest portion, I don’t think any state so far has gotten gleaming reviews for two major programs (short of Texas and Cali since they feature 300 teams) and WSU isn’t in the Seattle media market. For the sake of WA and the Pac-10 I hope they don’t spit all over one team or the other.
either way
they have to show the apple cup highlights
Spurrier left Tebow off his all-SEC ballot?!?!? How could he?! Big news
Seriously, that’s the lead story?
Yeah, the PRESEASON, wow stop the presses

I already wasted several minutes of my life reading about that.
Head coaches don’t fill out the ballots themselves? WHAT??? That is so SURPRISING.
I never really liked the old tagline.

I forgot to set the DVR for this.
Somehow I think I won’t be all that dissapointed.
I never really liked the old tagline.

I guess I thought the whole show would be about Washington
I only noticed about ten minutes, definitely pretty stupid. They jumped to the “hot topics” of other football news pretty quick.

"Hot topics"
Meaning doing all they can to appease the legions of Tim Tebow fans who were angry and outraged that Tebow (pronounced “God”) was not unanimously selected (but still, you know, selected) to a meaningless preseason all-conference team. What would the guys on PTI and Around the Horn talk about without important issues such as this?
I never really liked the old tagline.

I'm used to the ESPN hype machine
but I was still surprised at the amount of coverage this was getting. Almost, almost, worse than Farve.

If you missed it...
The show started with ten minutes on the scandal that is Tim Tebow not being unanimous pre-season all-SEC. The next 7 minutes was on the best Apple cup Games, the best players from the schools and an interview about the Huskies, with a little WSU thrown in (Emphasis on Little), from former Husky Brock Huard. Then talk about SEC media day even more and about how The Mountain West Conference thinks they should get a BCS bid… That’s it. About 8 Minutes of Washington, 3 minutes on the MWC, and 19 minutes on the SEC. Even if you did tape, don’t watch it…
That was crap
I cannot believe I bothered to DVR that. As the comment above says……..at least they are consistent in letting me down…….ESPN is just getting more worthless every year. Really wish someone would start a new sports network that wasn’t so crappy, so east coast centered, and do better then FSN – who just puts young blond idiots on who know nothing about sports.
Maybe they would actually cover live sports unlike FSN...
You instead of grabbing annoying Play-by-Play men and color guys and putting up 1980’s camera’s to cover 1 game even though they have a contract that has 5 games every weekend…
You have to realize though....
…that they are just playing to the audience. If our part of the country had the football fanatics that were present in similar numbers as were present in other parts of the country then they would spend more time on what we wanted to see. It’s all about ratings as you know.
