FOOTBALL FOOTBALL FOOTBALL OMG OMG OMG OMG FOOTBALL OMG FOOTBALL OMG FOOOOOOOTBAAAAAAALLLL
It's that time. As this post hits the front page of the site, the Cougars are warming up under the shadow of the library and Bohler Gym, just outside Martin Stadium. At this point, I don't care that the team might not be very good -- I mean, seriously ... IT'S FOOTBALL SEASON!!!
You can expect the same quality writing and analysis you came to expect during basketball from us here at CougCenter during this football season. Over the next few weeks, you'll see our position previews, as well as analysis on any relevant news to come out of camp. Oh, and you'll see the inagural CougCenter podcast at some point in the near future, so be on the lookout for that.
Here's the team's practice schedule (via Cougfan.com) as it heads toward kickoff against Stanford on Sept. 5. If you happen to be on campus and go to any practices, feel free to post your observations and thoughts in a FanPost.

The sun rises from the East, Nuss.
Holland wont cast a shadow over the practice field until this afternoon.
Well now that I think about it...
It’d be pretty hard to have shadows from the library and Bohler Gym cast over the field at the same time…
Jo-Jo! You’re ruining Nuss’s poetic genious! He had me under a spell with his words there for a minute.
"Figure of speach"
aren’t you the same sports editor that gave me a hard time in high school about refering to the Basketball court as a “field of battle” because it wasn’t a literal field?
I love giving you a hard time!
Sweet!
I am really excited that the podcast in getting off the ground. I used to listen to the espn college football podcast and I just got sick of, well, espn. But I totally think podcasts are a great way to some great Coug commentary and analysis right on my ipod!
Here's a clip from the wsucougars.com blog:
“I am usually one of the first people out at practice. Not so today. When I walked out on Rogers Field, the entire team was there ready to practice. No stragglers, every single player was there. The Cougars want to be better, and they want to be better now.”
He also mentions that Anderson had the play of the day with a deep catch for a TD and that everyone looks bigger from working with the strength coach Darin Lovat.
Hopefully some of that desire and will translates into execution
Because there’s really no arguing that there’s not enough Pac-10-ready talent on this team. It’s going to have to be Bennett Ball on the football field for this team to succeed.
That makes sense in more ways than one...
because we’re also going to need to “slow down the clock” with our running game to keep the games close lol.
I am new here
what does WCTHSS in the poll mean mean???
