Brandon Gibson makes the Philadelphia Eagles 53 man roster

Cougars fans told us that we got a steal taking Brandon Gibson in the sixth round of the NFL draft last April. As the NFL preseason wore on Eagles fans started to agree. A 6th round pick that looked like a longshot to make the roster ended up leading all Eagles WRs in receptions in the preseason, caught a TD pass, & was virtually tied for the team lead in receiving yards. Many would argue that Gibson even outplayed his rookie counterpart Jeremy Maclin, who was a first round pick....

He won himself a lot of fans this preseason and hopefully he'll get a chance to play this year.

Thanks for the update!

I hadn’t really been paying attention to Brandon but it’s great to see him succeed. He was one of the very few bright spots last year and he would have shined brighter had he had, you know, a QB… I will definitely keep an eye on him during the season.

That is absolutely fantastic news

The kid deserves it after the mess he played through last year. Great route runner, outstanding hands. He doesn’t have the explosive speed of Maclin, but I think he can have a long career as a slot receiver a la Bobby Engram.

Not a surprise to me

But so happy to see. Congrats to BG and the Eagles for a great find.

Gibson was 2nd or 3rd round talent after his junior year.

I never understood why one season where his production fell through no fault of his own was able to drop him all the way to the sixth round. On draft day I was surprised when he fell below the 4th round. Here’s to him having a long, productive NFL career.

His predraft workouts weren't the best

He had a little injury issue with is foot, his times weren’t great … just goes to show that maybe teams should just believe what they see on tape.
