EDIT: So I thought this posted earlier this morning, but I guess I thought wrong. Good thing it saved as a draft though. Special apologies to Ryan Bordner, who I promised to this would be up by 9.
How goes it everybody? Well I made the walk out to Martin yesterday, with a quick little stop at Panda Express before of course, and got myself a little Cougar football walk-through action. Not a whole heck of a lot to mention but nonetheless, here we go:
- Isiah Barton was getting 1st team reps with Jeffrey Solomon out to that partially torn ACL. I would have imagined Gino Simone moved into the spot but his extensive 2nd team reps would show otherwise. It's amazing to me how Gino went from what looked like our #2 receiver last year, to probably our 5th-6th best receiving option this year. Just goes to show our depth and talent at WR.
- Tuel had a couple throws that were just perfect, including one fade (maybe corner) route in the endzone that was dropped in right on the money.
- But in addition to the great there was just one, maybe two throws that could get a QB in trouble on gameday. Tuel threw one out route pass behind his receiver (who was able to make a great catch) that will go for 6 the other way against most Pac-10 corners. From then on though he was on fire, not really making any mistakes.
- The energy at practice this week seemed just as high or even higher than last week before Oregon. So let's hope they come out and treat Arizona the same way they treated Oregon last week. I think if the offense is working again versus the very lacking Arizona secondary and the defense can just get stops when we need them to, this game could be very, very exciting.
