The cougs continue to show improvement week after week. This week they came out flat with some turnovers on offense and some sloppy defense. The first three quarters were not very fun to watch but the 4th quarter made up for it. The good news is our defense is somewhat holding up against high caliber offenses (this week with their starting qb). Our offense started out pretty slow with an interception thrown, fumbling the ball and so on. Then the cougs started to show some hope in the 4th quarter with their offense marching down the field in 5 playings racking up 80 yards followed by a forced punt on defense then driving back down again gaining 80 yards on 7 plays. The cougars finally capped it off with a 74 yard TD pass to freshman Marquess Wilson. I do believe the Cardinals had their first string D in (correct me if im wrong). Overall I though we played well against the second best team in the Pac-10, at their home while they had just come off their bye week.
Now we look for a win in Tempe. I totally have faith in the cougs that we can stick with them and win this upcoming game. If the cougar D plays like it did against Arizona we should be fine. As long as the cougar offense does its thing then I think we could put up a lot of TD's against a defense that just gave up 50 points to a mediocre Cal offense. If the cougs get an early lead I could see them getting pumped up and stomping on the throat of the Sun Devils. Only problem is that ASU just came off an embarrassing game and might come out strong. These next three games are very important for our confidence in the Apple Cup. As a team I think we are on track for a fun year next year.
Go Cougs!
