APPLE CUP MEMORIES: 2008, The Last Time It Was In Pullman
The Huskies were winless. The Cougs' only win was over Portland State. Nicknamed the "Crapple Cup," it was hardly a thing of beauty.
Unless you were there. And then there was nothing ugly whatsoever about it.
Looking forward to more of the same on Saturday.

I am not sure if I'm proud of this
But I rushed the field. Well, why the hell not? The one moment of joy all season!

I wasn't going to rush field.
But some guys in front of me were able to convunce my half-drunk self with a very persuasive argument that included a point and a “Let’s go!”

You sound like a hard man to convince

I didn't rush the field, but. .
I sat down right by the tunnel and watched everyone exit. I remember having a big smile on my face because that season was rough, and we needed a win.
I remember being at this game freshman year.
I was standing third row of the student section. All I remember thinking to myself before the pass to Karstetter was “Great moments in Cougar History, Great Moments in Cougar History, Great Moments in Cougar History…” It was great to rush the field after having sat through the blowouts against Cal, USC, Oregon etc.

Exactly
My friend had sat through every moment of every home game and couldn’t get on the field fast enough after the final kick.

This is my favorite Apple Cup.
Granted I’ve only been watching it for a decade or so, but this was one of the most joyous moments of my life as a sports fan. That’s incredible in such an awful season.
2007
Was 8 bazillion times better, IMO.
