We are a couple days (Wednesday) away from the beginning of Pac-10 play. At the start of Pac-10 play there is no Pac-10 team listed in the Top 25, so it will be crucial for WSU to finish high in the Pac-10 if we expect them to be in post season play. It will be hard for a team in the Pac-10 to get in the Top 25 if they (according to the national media) aren't playing Top 25 caliber teams during conference play. Kenpom lists the Pac-10 as the 5th strongest conference. Kenpom also has WSU finishing #3 in the Pac-10 and going 14-4 in conference play. Kenpom listed Arizona at #2 going 16-2 in conference play and UW at #1 going 17-1 in conference play, with their only loss being against Arizona. Below are the 4 WSU losses Kenpom lists.
1. @USC
2. UW
3. @Arizona
4. @UW
At times this season we will be playing against 6 players instead of 5, because again Foot Locker will be officiating our games. I am excited that Kenpom has us at only 4 losses, but my gut tells me we will have a couple lapses of concentration during conference play, thus lossing a couple games we shouldn't. It is hard for any team to get up for all 18 games. I think UW will lose more than one game and I think it will be a heated battle at the top spot with Arizona, USC, UW and WSU. It is hard not to put UCLA in there; I watched UCLA and USC both go into Allen Fieldhouse and give Kansas all they can handle. Although, UCLA has had some bad losses. There is a lot of good coaches in this conference so we are in for a rollercoaster. A poll is below for you. PS: I apologize for any miss spelled words, my computer's spell check indicator isn't working and my eyes are getting blurry.
