I doubt you realize it, but the University of Idaho football program has found itself in pretty dire straights (not the band). Their conference is falling apart at the seems, and their AD isn't doing anything to prevent the Vandals from joining the WAC in the decent into FBS oblivion. Instead of trying to build a new 30K outdoor football stadium, so the Vandals can move to a better conference, Idaho's AD has decided to renovate the Kibbie Dome instead He also says the only way he will consider fundraseing for a 30K out door stadium is if they sell out the Dome for EVERY GAME.
Considering the fact that around 1500 seats are against the walls of the doom and have horrible sight lines, those seats make the nosebleeds in the Kingdome look like an oasis in the desert. Selling out the 16,000 seat Dome is not very likely. I for one would hate to see the Vandals drop down to the FCS, especially sense it seems Rob Ackey (a former Cougar coach) has finally turned the program around. I would like to see the Vandals and Cougars take the field in a pitched early season rivalry game that actually means something, not very likely to happen if the Vandals to the FCS......
I feel sympathy for our "friends" in Moscow, and hope that they can get their new stadium. Other wise it will be a long and horrible downfall for the folks in Black and Gold.
