POSTGAME THREAD: I wish SBNation would let me take down the scoreboard above this headline
Vent away, people. I only wish I had seen it so I'd know what to second guess.

Bone
That loss is on the coach. Second half offense was slow down use the shot clock and take a jumper. Stanford didn’t get there second foal until after the ten minute mark in the second half. Horrible job by the coach
Nope.
Which means neither one of us really has any idea what really happened. To pin a game on the coach without seeing it is pretty absurd.

Yes, I only had Namek to base my opnion on.
But to pin a loss on the coach is not absurd. He talked this week on his inability to motivate this team. And yes the stats or going to show us all how poorly they shot in the second half. But when were those shots taken in the shot clock? Namek said it many times that players, with an open look, chose or were instructed by the coach (according to Namek) to bring the ball out and start the offense over.
Please don’t take offense to this, it is simply my opinion based on what I listened to.
I get what you're saying
Full disclosure: I’m generally loathe to blame a coach for individual games. Players make the plays … or don’t. I think the coach’s influence over any one game is greatly overstated. In basketball, it’s more about trends. Besides, motivating and game coaching are two different things. Watching the first half, before the feed went out, I didn’t see any lack of motivation.
Pieces of the blame pie are just impossible to hand out without having seen the game. Bud is just one guy, too — one guy who’s paying attention to about 100 things. Remember, he’s never met a piece of contact that he didn’t think was a foul.
Wait until some more pieces of information come in. Wait until Grippi’s story. I know at least one person who was there, who hopefully will share some insight. Then we can have an informed opinion.

i think the only thing people get offended about
are definitive statements about subjects where they don’t have an educated opinion.
listening to bud call a game during a meltdown isn’t really a great source.
could it have been bone’s fault? of course. but i think the majority of people here are above the reactionary and blanket “fault” statements. hence the meltdown last week over people blaming Klay, people blaming Charlie two weeks ago, people blaming Nik all last year.
nobody’s saying you don’t know anything. i think ALL of us aren’t really in any position to know anything since we didn’t see the 2nd half.
Others questioning Bone also
Comments on other sites are starting to question if he is the one that slows the games down at the end and also questioning how he uses his bench.
I didn’t watch or listen to the game so I can’t blame anyone, but it seems a lot of Coug fans are starting to point Bone more and more. I personally think its just this is a young team and this happens and they will learn from everything and take it into next season.

Par for the course
They blame the coach for all

Well, you get what you get when you read "other sites"
Human nature is to blame. People need to get a little perspective: This is a deeply flawed team, one that might only be as good as it is because of Bone.

I agree
I think Bone is the reason we have 15 wins. I still believe he will bring this program to a level nobody has ever seen in a few years.

So you dont know that they werent running the offense
And couldn’t find shots? Its hard to tell what it really looks like without seeing. Were we not running til ten or was that a reset? You can’t tell
by Brian Floyd on Feb 11, 2010 9:54 PM PST via mobile up reply actions
Well that wasnt fun
Since I couldn’t see ill withhold judgment. Instead I blame this on the Stanford feed. It all went south when the feed left

Looking at the box score...
http://rivals.yahoo.com/ncaa/basketball/boxscore?gid=201002110545
It says that Brock Motum didn’t even take a shot. When I was watching the gamechannel it said he missed a lay in but didn’t play the entire first half. I thought that was kind of weird since it was reported that he would get more playing time with Enquist hurt and since he played so well last game.
Moore was 1-10… If anything, Bone needs to know when to bench his freshmen. I don’t know if the 9 misses were contested or not so I could be wrong if they were just wide open misses but that doesn’t seem likely.

Bud said Motum couldnt figure out the defensive scheme I think
Thus limited action

Is it bad that after 15 of letting this soak in I don't care about it anymore?
I’m tired of getting too emotionally involved in this team. I love em and will always follow them, but I’m done letting these losses effect me long after the game ends. Happens too often now. You literally cannot get excited about any lead and thats really too bad. Owell, its just 1 loss and it sucks but nothing you can do about it now. Lets shock the bears. 2010 slogan is “No lead is safe!” and that goes both ways.
Just keep thinking about how this will help next year
This young team wont be as young anymore :-)

It's amazing how little I care about this season at this point.
I feel like something’s wrong with me. I don’t usually give up on sports teams like this. I don’t know what’s so frustrating about this season, but it’s pretty much put me off.
when you get in trouble-
GO to the hole- attack the rim. These young guys ’settle for jumpers when the going gets tough. You are right spokane cougar— they will learn this…

Bjornstad -8
Koprivica -16
Capers -20
This loss was so disheartening
I felt like this was kind of a make or break game and to have it end like that was awful. I expect a loss at Cal as well. Hopefully we can beat the puppydawgs in Pullman. At least that will put a smile on my face. And who knows, maybe we get hot in the Pac10 tourney?
Very Strange
distribution of minutes tonight. Harthun with 14. Motum only one after such great showing against UA. I’m sure Bone has his reasons for it, and has been preaching defense of late, but our bread and butter is our offense. Motum with one minute because he struggles with some defensive concepts puzzling, considering that Stanford is hardly an offensive power.
This has been starting to bug me because it seems to be a trend this season. Charlie Enquist was looking like our second best big against UW and before, but hasn’t been heard from since. I know he hurt his ankle but that doesn’t explain his 3 game absence.
Motum showed the ability to be a person we need on this team, which is a big with a jumper that can shoot over the zone from mid range. His first significant minutes of the year and he does well. And is then benched the next game. I just don’t understand it.
I’ve never seen Harthun’s stroke actually drain buckets, and I’m not sure he should be trying to earn his stripes when we desperately need wins to keep postseason chances alive.
I look forward to next weeks press conference.
