POSTGAME THREAD: Cougs win (ugly)!
May be a little later tonight/early tomorrow that I can get you some charts and graphs, so discuss away here.
Surprised we won despite Klay's 0-for-12? Upset about foul shooting? Happy about Abe and Casto's solid night against a serviceable USC frontcourt?
In some ways, this should have been a WSU blowout. On the other hand, USC missed a lot of open shots. It was a better defensive performance by the Cougs, yes, but they got some help.
Still, most importantly: a win! Celebrate good times. C'mon.

Great game by Abe
He started off rusty but really kept pushing it and once he gain some confidence he had a great game. One play in particular that jumps out at me was he threw up an uncontested three and missed it. But instead of running to the back court, he crashed the boards, grabbed his own rebound and while still in the air sunk it from about 7 feet out. Then a few possessions later he sunk a three from the wing. Overall great game for Abe. I was a little surprised to see Bone take him out in the last minute are two, especially after he had knocked down his previous FTs
final plus minus
Moore +8
Casto +8
Capers +6
Lodwick +4
Thompson 0
Koprivica -4
Thames -6
Watson -8
Did anyone watch the webcast?
I’m glad to see the Cougars do something like this. I know that they will be doing a few baseball games too. I was wondering how the quality was on both the broadcast and the announcing as the entire thing is done by students in the school of communications.
Spent over an hour trying
I had problems and never could get the game. Could have been a computer problem on my end or it could have been the feed provider or a combination.
You can’t believe how frustrating it is to spend 3/4 the game trying to get the live feed.
I tried a few times to access it online as well...
…and it never came through. Not sure what the problem was.
Agree that it was frustrating.

I don't think it transfers
UCLA was unfortunate enough to get Quincy Pondexter on senior night, and he lit them up early. That energy transferred to his teammates, who took over from there, and they were probably extra motivated to put on a show for Gameday. That emotion won’t be on the Huskies’ side next week, and it’s been pretty well documented how we play on the road vs. the friendly confines of Hec Ed.
Good point
As I said at uwdawpound I can’t be happier to see Pondexer leave Hec Ed with a win. He deserved it. The Pullman game may very well be a toss up at this point, though

I said on gamethread preview that we just needed to be average on offense to win.
Apparently I should have said average on offense to blow them out.
.85 points per possession (which is about average for a USC opponent!)
