Also, can anybody tell me how Texas A&M can beat Duke? I'd really, really like to take the Aggies ... but I can't find a good reason to pick against the Blue Devils. I keep trying to find places to get them out of the tournament, and just can't.

I have A&M beating Duke.

Duke always seems to mess themselves up in the Tourney. I heard somewhere they hadn’t made the Sweet-16 in six years? Or was it Elite 8? Can’t remember. But I never trust Duke going far in the Tourney. Some of my relatvies don’t even have Duke beating Cal/L’Ville. Probably not a definite reason to not pick Duke winning.

I know this is off topic, but I want to apologize for being a nut about the FT’s a couple weeks ago(I probably sound stupid right now, but whatever). When I played high school ball, my coach made sure everyone shot 80% or better from the line or we didn’t play hardly at all. He was nuts when it came to FT’s. It really benefited the team, but I think his mindset towards FT’s carried on with me and that’s why I was like that. Again, sorry.

No worries

Glad you’re back.

As for Duke, that’s what I keep thinking, but I just can’t pinpoint the spot it’s likely to happen. I’m also having trouble with everyone darling Baylor. A team that suspect on defense scares the hell out of me.

I heard Bone on with Furness and he said they will be shooting Free throws in practice next year

Even said they may bring in a free throw coach – whatever that is.

I feel like Charlie Brown trying to kick the football. Ugh

I have A&M beating Duke as well.

I just really don’t think this Duke team has what it takes to win it all, or advance to the Final Four. Singler and Schyer (sp) are good players, and Smith, but I have no faith in them. They went 5-5 away for Durham, got destroyed by Georgetown, and they one the ACC tourney, which in most years is a big accomplishment, not this year. A&M a very good point guard leader Donald Sloan, and a good forward in Bryan Davis. The Aggies also have six players who are scoring 7+ points a game. Very well rounded team.

As For Baylor, I have them on the Final Four as well. I love there offense, it is one of the best in the tourney. And, look at the past couple of champions, UNC, Kansas, Florida (2), UNC again, UCONN, and thats as far as I’ll go back. But, even though the saying is “Defense wins championships”, it takes a good offense to win it all, historically. Back to Baylor, I really like there team. Dunn and Carter are great offenseive weapons, both guards. And we all know you have to have good guard play in the tourney. Udoh is a good Center, and picks up 10 boards a game. Watch out for the bears. Hope I helped in any way, probally not i feel like I’m just rambleing on at this point.

Okay good.

I love the Big-12 brand of basketball, solid but not great defense, and very good offense. As for my picks, I am terrible at brackets so Duke will probally win the title and Baylor will go out in the second round.

I usually suck, too

This year, I’m really trying not to overthink it.

by Jeff Nusser on Mar 17, 2010 9:27 PM PDT up reply actions

I tried that once

But in the process I overthough not overthinking it… I didn’t work

by GoCougs on Mar 17, 2010 9:28 PM PDT up reply actions

Same I went my gut the first time I looked at it.

Normally I don’t finish until around now, but this year I finished Sunday and haven’t changed it. Last year I finished second to last in my office pool. There was like, 250 people in it. I suck.

by KirklandCoug on Mar 17, 2010 9:29 PM PDT up reply actions

This year, I filled it out early

Then stepped away. Then I came back to it today after listening/reading a ton of analysis. I also looked at the four factors of key matchups. And in the end? I surprised myself at how little I changed most of it. I was toying with the idea of picking Cal over Duke, but without Amoke, I’m not even sure how much I like their chances to get by Louisville anymore.

by Jeff Nusser on Mar 17, 2010 9:38 PM PDT up reply actions

I thought about changing my Cal pick over Louisville as well

But I couldn’t do it. The Cards are very bad at defending the 3, so I think if Cal can get some open 3s and knock them down, they can win without Amoke.

by KirklandCoug on Mar 17, 2010 9:49 PM PDT up reply actions

I did it

I got my insider information by look at CGB. And they would NEVER, EVER, overreact.

By the way, according to CGB, Amoke got his Masoli on. Seriously, the Pac-10 needs a legal department.

I filled out my bracket in 5 mintues

because I don’t want to over think it. My friends wife won a bracket a few years back and she based her decision on which mascot would win in a fight.
