WHERE I COME FROM: EA Sports NCAA Football 2011 Available Now
This post is sponsored by EA Sports NCAA Football 11.
Well, everyone -- it's officially Christmas in July! I'll be heading to GameStop here shortly to pick up my very own copy of the game. But before I do, we conclude our week of posts (which have been incredibly fun) by bringing you a message from our sponsor:
When you go to particular school or grow up a around college football you are more than just a fan. It's who you are. We thought we could leverage this pride in your roots and show that ‘where you come from' is more than just a statement about geography. By positioning NCAA Football 11 as a game that understands this pride and is authentic to these traditions, the takeaway should be that anything that is in college football is in NCAA Football11.
And this doesn't just include game play (though that's a huge part of it). It's rivals and mascots; it's legends and stories. It's those things that are at the very fabric of the game itself. Of course the game is great this year as well. With authentic entrances, mascots and specific offenses for each team the term "where I come from" takes on a much larger meaning. While playing NCAA Football 11 is ultimately a great sports sim, it should also give you a sense of the pride and emotion one has for being a fan of a team they will never not be a part of.
If you want to purchase your very own copy of the game without leaving the comfort of your living room, click on one of the EA Sports NCAA Football 11 ads around the site. You can order directly from them.
Oh, and FYI: If you're on Xbox 360, my gamertag is NussCoug. Hit me up.

Mine is super original and you'll probably need to write it down.

I know, I know. Original.
I'm probably going to wait a bit to buy it.
I’m a deal hunter. If anyone wants to know my PS3 tag, it’s DancingFootball.

Ocassionally Target puts titles like these on sale for 39.99 two weeks after they come out.

I'm with you...
the prices burn me. I understand inflation, etc., but I remember buying Castlevania for $19.99 back in the day and thinking THAT was too much.

Dude, really?
I thought I was the only person in the history of existence who owned Castelvania.

My Castlevania was for the NES....
Yeah… THAT long ago.

These EA ads blanketing the sides of the page
Are much better than the Valentine’s Day SBN experiment.
"specific offenses for each team"
I would be interested in buying the game just to figure out what our offense theoretically looks like.

Then you’ll see how it’s optimally run. :-)

It's all Doba's fault
I’m considering retracting my expectation that the defense will be better this year. NCAA ‘11 shows me that they (or I) can’t stop anything.
Stupid realism!
I couldn’t run the ball or do anything more than a 3-step drop on NCAA 10.

Is it true that this game doesn't have FCS teams?
Those were my go-to Dynasty choices when I got bored of winning National Championships every year with the Cougs.

Yeah, that's going to be a meme.

I played it for a couple hours this morning.
Easily the best NCAA in years. The ability to recruit and check stats and stuff from the computer is incredibly awesome. I can’t wait to get into some lengthy online dynasties with lots of friends. Gamertag: Peatywsu for anyone interested.
Also, WSU is a 79 overall in the game, C+ Offense, B- Defense. We are barely the worst team in the pac-10, behind UCLA (80).
I've still got the freebie one from my red ring of death
I think it’s good for a month which will hold me over.
I'm telling you, when you have a spare 10 minutes at work and
you can focus all your attention on getting that 5 star RB to Pullman, it’s very satisfying.

I'll have a full review up later tonight
but holy cow. This isn’t just the best NCAA Football game, it might be the best sports game. The attention to detail is fantastic. Also, I may be overreacting since I’ve had two energy drinks.
They extended the amount of equipment you can add to your players. I don’t know why, but I love one long sleeve. It’s like the Allen Iverson of football.
For those without the game wondering who are “Impact Players” are (the ones with the stars):
WR Jared Karstetter
MLB Alex Hoffman-Ellis (really?)
RB James Montgomery
Per always, I’ve had to edit the shit out of the rosters to make them more uptodate. Rankin isn’t there, and a ton of freshman are absent. I’m absolutely loving this game so far, though.
Xbox Live Gamertag: PlayerKyle14 if you haven’t added me yet.
Ya they really shorted us on our incoming class.
If I remember correctly we don’t have any freshmen above a 68 or so. That’s weak.

I'm going to download the demo.
And pretend to myself that it is enough for now.

Hit me up if you are too cheap to buy this years version and instead are sticking to 2010
That was my last edition until today
SOOOOOOOO happy I spent the money. It’ll be the last game I buy for quite a while, but totally worth it.
Me too...
for a couple more weeks anyway.

So does anyone else anticipate being annoyed
when you get to 2011 on dynasty mode and Utah (and potentially Colorado) won’t be in the Pac-10?
CougCenter WSU's second main blog
This is a tough one.
They let you change conferences, but you can only swap out teams (you can’t simply add two teams to the pac-10 without taking any out.
Now, I have heard one solution that is cumbersome, but it gets the job done. You go to custom conferences and switch out the remaining 10 Big Twelve teams for all the pac-10 teams, then you put Colorado and Utah in there too. You do the same flop with moving all the Big 10 teams to the ACC, including Nebraska. You do have to drop one ACC team to the MWC (to replace Utah). So you are left with the Pac-12 under the title Big 12 (and vice versa). If you put the teams in correctly you can even keep all the pac-12 rivals intact. The only problem is, if you will the conference, you don’t go to the Rose Bowl or anything.

I'm thoroughly enjoying the demo.
Just had one of those “only in a video game moments.” FSU down 7 with 54 seconds left scores on a long catch and run, then recovers a fumble. One complete crossing route gets them in field goal range for the 50 yard winner over UF!

Named Rosters for PS3 users!
There are instructions on how to get them in the comments of this article. Apparently they are still working on the 360 version.
We used to get these for the PS2 versions. It makes the game soooo much better.
