Kicking off the season with EA Sports

There are few things that get a college football dork more excited than the middle of July. If you're a gamer, you know exactly what I'm talking about.

It's time for NCAA Football 11.

So, needless to say, we were excited when EA Sports asked to sponsor a week's worth of posts leading up to the release of NCAA Football 11 next Tuesday, July 13. They weren't interested in telling us what to say, but rather in sponsoring a series of posts celebrating die-hard fans of college football.

If you're like us, the annual release of EA's NCAA Football is like Christmas in July, and we're more than happy to celebrate next week's holiday with a week-long look at what it means to be a fan of the Washington State Cougars. We'll be posting once a day between now and the release of the game next Tuesday, starting in a few minutes with the first of the series -- "WHERE I COME FROM: How we became die-hard Cougs." From there, the series will unfold as follows:

Tuesday: All-time favorite WSU football teams

Wednesday: Tailgating traditions

Thursday: All-time favorite Cougars

Friday: Most memorable moments as a Coug fan

Monday: Expectations for the 2010 Season

Tuesday: Christmas in July

Very cool

Looking forward to the posts. Especially anything that gives me some optimism for the future.

Also, everyone should go to NCAA Football 11 facebook page and “like” the picture of Butch as a mascot! but do yourself a favor and don’t even bother to read the posts, most of them are huskies and ducks bashing us and SEC nut jobs just hating the Pac-10 in general.

I was kind of on the fence about picking up this game

But now that EA is sponsoring Cougcenter, I’m all in.

NCAA is actually improving the dynasty mode a lot this year

I guess you will be able to continue your online dynasties online and on an iPhone. You can check stats, recruit and maybe even simulate. The gameplay is also improved.

I play NCAA Football every year

but our rosters are always incredibly jacked up. I went on EA’s Teambuilder site and our roster again is messed up. Oh well, I actually kind of enjoy editing all our players to reflect the actual roster.

You are right about our roster!

Last year was so screwed up they had the most random people as our impact players. I emailed them about it and they did improve it quite a bit after I contacted them. I wonder what our rating is this year C+? I hope they have us coming out of the tunnel doing the chomp that would make all $60 worth it!
