GRIPPI: Players have Wulff’s back
We might as well get this one out of the way now. Grippi took on the task of examining Wulff on the hot seat by talking to the players and Bill Moos.
Not surprisingly, those Grippi talked to were in full support of Wulff and optimistic about the Cougs' chances. From the sounds of it, Wulff will be allowed to do his work and continue what he started to do: rebuild the program from the ground up.
He also includes a look around the Pac-10, link style. I hope Grippi auto-posted this because a 5:00 AM story on a Sunday takes some serious dedication. Another reminder of why he's the best.

I would point out that Jake Locker had TyWill's back...
…. not sure what other position they could take on this issue.
Damn, my eyeball tastes good.
I suppose Grippi was trying to communicate that they really believe in what's happening
There are varying levels of being behind your coach.
That's what I took out of it
Yes, I expect players to tow the company line, but Grippi seemed to be saying that everyone — from the top of the department to the players — believed in the process.
I don't think it would have been PC for Locker (as the leader) to publicly say he didn't have Ty's back.
It wouldn’t have been good for the team or him. College players are not known for bashing their coaches, they just transfer. Plus, Locker is a pretty good person.
Tuel’s comments were above and beyond what he needed to say and in those comment he made it obvious that he thinks this is a great (hard working) coaching staff. It is good to hear these things from the players.
I recently talked to a former player and he said he was not happy with Doba at all. He didn’t feel like he was a coach. He like Doba as a person, but didn’t not say one good thing about the program while he was player playing under Doba (he was recruited by Price). He thought Akey should have been the coach and still thinks he should be.

Akey
Interesting this player believes Akey should have been given the job. I still don’t know whether I would want Akey as the WSU head coach even at this point. He’s a great person and I hope Idaho continues to climb under his direction. I just never was sure about him as the guy.
This isn't just lip service
I really believe the quote below sums up exactly where the administration, and players alike, believe the program is and is heading. As CPW points out, Moos was there from Day 1, had his back as much if not more than ANYONE, and actually has a clue about what rebuilding really means.
And I think any of us who have actually had a chance to talk to these kids realize and know they aren’t just being “politically correct” in their statements.
"(Moos) was in my interview. I laid (my plan) out, I haven’t wavered. He was, I think, my biggest fan for me to get the job. As the last two years have gone along, people have paid attention to why we’ve been where were, he understands what’s happening. He realizes we’ve just gotten out of the hole, now we’re starting to put the foundation together and start building some walls. Any reasonable person who understands this game and has been part of the rebuilding process would understand that."
