PrintESPN had questions for current college football players and one of the questions was who has the best uniforms.

Amazingly, Oregon was picked as the favorite. It was a small sample size so I don't know how accurate it is, but I found it interesting. Must be the difference in generations because I personally think Oregon typically has hideous uniforms. I mean they can look good, they just usually choose not to. Their green helmets with a white jersey and green pants or their all greens look pretty good, other than the feathers. It's when they do all the mix and match with colors that aren't even school colors that make them look ridiculous. The throwback unis they wore this last year looked really good I thought. I think the younger generation just loves almost anything Nike puts out there, the uglier the better.
So I know there was a huge post about the Cougs uniforms a while back, but I am just curious as to what Pac-10 teams uniforms people like? Besides, still too much time to kill before the season starts. Do people really like Oregon, or do they prefer others? I would have to say that I would go with OSU and Cal as probably my favorites right now. Oregon State has a pretty basic, yet classy uniform and they have their own number font. They also quickly ditched the sports bras when they saw that they didn't look good. If you want a little more flair, I would go with Cal's. It isn't so boring, but not totally obnoxious either. USC's are classic and I really do like their shoulder stripe, I wish the Cougs stripe would look more like that. Make the top strip similar to USC's and the bottom strip about where the current one is, but coming to a point to meet the other one rather than the squared off athletic tape look.

Re: Oregon it is most certainly a generational thing.
We need to get rid of that masking tape on our shoulders, except then we’d be pretty much indistinguishable from Stanford.

As long as they stick to their colors. I don’t like the gray and black stuff.

Green and gold (yellow) is a cool color combination. Oregon should consider using it sometime.

Unlike most schools, we can tell the difference between yellow and gold. Our colors are green and yellow.

I've always liked UCLA's uni's
Stanford’s are pretty slick too. I like understated

Anyway, I like OSU’s jerseys. There is just something about Black and Orange that I love.

Looks like we're not the only ones
talking uniforms. Can’t say I really like his choices, especially number 1, but I think he is using some older uniforms.

Gray-White-Gray… beautiful. Even with the script helmet.
I disagree with most of his takes, but hey, that’s his opinion. I love how in one of the pics you can see the awesome Blue-White-Yellow Cal combo. Funny thing is he doesn’t even show the Huskies looking their best. He’s got them in white pants. And it’s before Nike added the piping that will kill their look this year.
Here’s how I rank them.
1. USC
2. Cal
3. Oregon State
4. Stanford
5. UCLA
6. WSU
7. Oregon
8. Arizona
9. UW
10. Arizona State
1 through 4 are in a league of their own, 5 through 9 are closely bunched together, and ASU’s just plain suck (they used to have one of the best).
Take the stupid piping off UW’s and they move up to at least #4, IMO. And I hate purple.
Even with the script?
it should only be script. the logo is thrown around haphazardly enough as it is.

i think the most perfect uni’s we’ve ever had were the Mkristo Bruce era uniforms; these are close.
I could go without the crimson helmet, also.
UW has improved on the uni front immensely. the bigger numbers are slick, and I agree they should ditch the piping. they had it more or less as perfect as purple is going to get you with their 2000 rose bowl team unis, then they decided to change everything, to the subject of everyone else’s mockery.
i have ASU in the CougCenter online dynasty and I hate picking their uni’s every week. just gross.
They aren't showing the pants!!!
It doesn’t look like ASU is going to have the maxi-pad look like on the prototypes we saw a few weeks ago.

Gray-white-gray?
Those look bad. The gray only looks good in contrast to the crimson. White and gray just remind me of boring MLB uniforms.

My vote = USC
Classic. Great design, and tons of history to go with it.
Cal is a close second, and I’m glad to see them getting some early votes. It’s just a perfect modern uniform.
Oregon State, meanwhile, is a great example of old and new coming together incredibly well… Kudos to Nike for screwing up UW when it was starting to look like they had a competent uniform thrown together… ASU’s are a stupid mess. Worst in the conference… WSU and Stanford are in a fight over which team can make the blandest red uniform… and Adidas headquarters should be blown up for taking away that awesome rounded number font UCLA once had… Arizona needs to go back to white helmets.

I think I agree with pretty much all of your comments here. Oh, and Arizona is going back to white helmets, at least part time. They busted out the white in their bowl game for an all white look, which looked terrible I thought. But I have heard they are keeping the white helmets at least for some games. I think they are doing the duel helmet scheme now as well.

players love our uniforms
because they sell an image…….new, cool, cutting edge, etc. Its also well known that Oregon players play a part in the design process.
Nevermind that half our combinations are as ugly as Lou Holtz in a bikini. Its not about the uniforms per se, but the image that they sell.

I really liked the wings
It wasn’t over the top but it was subtle enough to make a mark. In my opinion, the diamond plating was horrible.

I figured college kids love the Nike cutting edge look. Most of on here are more fans of the old schools styles.

The stripes are just so much better than how they really turned out. The other thing I hate is how Nike has taken the school names off of most of the jerseys so they can make their symbol the biggest one on there.

WIth the red shirt and red pants with the grey stripes they used to wear were sexy. Other than the Cougs I think the Beavs black and orang are good looking uni’s can’t go wrong with black and orange.
