I'm not going to guilt you into buying tickets -- I know how expensive it is to go to games, and I'll be just going to the Apple Cup.
But that won't stop Jeff Tuel, Travis Long and Paul Wulff from doing it.

Coug tickets are cheap!
You can get single tickets very cheap and the value season tickets are very cheap as well. I feel that all coug fans that live in the Northwest have an obligation to make as many games as possible. If we want our team back at the top we need to support them in the stands and give them some sort of home field advantage. The cougs need the money from ticket sales badly lets play our part in turning this around.

The tickets aren't the problem, dude.
It’s the gas, food and lodging that cost $200 – $300 for a weekend.
Yeah thanks for the tip!
My dad was trying to make reservations for a trip over for Dad’s weekend and kind of procrastinated. I’ll have to tell him about this one.
I make the same trip in reverse
I’ve made somewhere around 9 trips to Seattle since the MLS season started in March, including 3 weeks in a row during July. It has left me rather worn out with an empty bank account, but that is what you do to support your team.
Come to town, have a local beer (real beer, not Busch Ice), enjoy the abelskivvers, and support the Cougs!
The bank account argument is a little different when you have a family
I will likely choose to support them by donating to the WSU Athletic Foundation instead. That way they can get some of my money without it costing me $1500 over the course of the season, the vast majority of which won’t help the program one bit.
the lonely life does have the occasional small advantage
I can certainly take more risk with my wallet when I only have to worry about what happens to myself. Still, the three game packages are cheap enough that if you miss the other game (or games), you don’t have to feel bad about “wasting” the money.
And if you can make them… all the better. Money is important to the Cougs, but butts in seats are important too.

The 3 game packs are tempting
I was already planning to go to the Montana State game, and I would likely go to the apple cup as well. For $95 I can go to those two, and then either Oregon or USC. Thats a great value. It won’t be too hard to get to the games since I will just be up the road in Spokane (going to Gonzaga, weird!). Worst case scenario I sell the 3rd ticket, get $20 apiece and I still get what I paid for.

Yeah I understand.
I guess it is a lot easier when you live on the east side. That being said I’m sure there are lots of cougs out there on the east side that do not attend like they should. It is quite the drive over so west siders have an excuse. I usually go to about 5 Mariners games a year so I do realize that it costs a lot especially if you are bringing a family. Hopefully they bring back that Seattle game for the west side cougs.

I'm hoping to get season tickets in four years
My wife will be all done with school, pulling in a cool 45 Gs!!!! (As the second teacher in the house.)
Nice!
My fiancee has one more year of school at wsu so she gets in free and so I just bought a value season ticket for $160 plus I live in spokane so I have it really easy. Hopefully I get a teaching job in a year or so because paying off school loans is going to be brutal. Sorry if that was to off topic I guess my point is that I see what you mean about the expenses once you have to foot the bill for the whole family.

I would love to be a Cougar season ticket holder
But it is very very hard to do with small children (6, 3) and a wife who went to PLU and still doesn’t completely “get it.”
That being said, I have gone to at least one Pullman game the past couple of years. And I am going to two this year (Mont. St. and Apple Cup.)
Grey gets no love

Spokane
If you are willing to sacrifice staying in Pullman (And if you have young kids, I don’t see why you wouldn’t) it can be fairly inexpensive to stay in Spokane for one night and still make a home game.
I do this anytime kickoff is at noon or 2: Drive to Spokane Friday night, stay in a cheap motel room, get up early and get to Pullman. Tailgate all morning, attend the game, then drive back to Seattle after it is over. As long as you don’t drink too much, its really easy to do and you can get home by 10:30-11ish at the latest. It really cuts down on expenses throughout the course of the season. Dads Weekend is another good one to do this for, since that weekend is not nearly as fun when you aren’t a student (or the father of a student).
