It's Time For Cougar Football
It's finally time. It's 12:20 a.m. on Saturday and I'm like a kid on Christmas morning. College football started Thursday, but our college football starts today.
All the heartache and frustration last season caused is gone. Today marks the beginning of something new.
All the previews, predictions, and guesswork that's occurred up until now? Throw it out the window. It doesn't mean a thing once the Cougars hit the field this afternoon. It's fun to try to paint a picture of the team in the offseason, but it doesn't matter anymore.
I'm excited. I'm excited to see all the young players take the field and fly around like freshmen that don't know any better do. I'm excited to see what Paul Wulff's staff has to offer in year three. I'm excited for Jeff Tuel and his young corps of receivers. I'm excited to see Brandon Rankin in real-live action. I'm excited to watch the Cougars grow on the field.
I'm nervous. I'm more emotionally invested in this team than I've been in any other Cougar team. Maybe it's because I've spent so much time breaking down every aspect of the team, but I'm nervous for them all.
I'm hopeful. I'm hopeful about the direction of the program. I'm hopeful that this team can step up and compete with every team on the schedule. I'm hopeful that the Cougars will come out and surprise people.
No matter what happens, they're still our Cougars. Win or lose, we get to cheer our butts off every Saturday as fans of the Washington State Cougars. Cougar Football Saturdays are my favorite days of the year. We get 12 weeks to sit back and watch the show.
Strap yourselves in and enjoy the ride. Go Cougs.

Totally agree.
I feel like I won’t be able to sleep tonight. I don’t care how bad we’ve been or how bad we will be. Right now, it’s all optimism. I can’t wait for kickoff.
As a side note/question, who does everyone think will score the first Cougar TD?
My money says Tuel pass to Simone, but that’s just because I’ve been playing a lot of NCAA Football ’11.
I've got my money on Tuel to Wilson.

I can't get to sleep
I had a milkshake I really shouldn’t have had. Anyway, instead of sleeping, I’m watching the lightning in pullman and filling my time thinking about tomorrows game and the upcoming season. I came up with a poem to commemerate it:
Roses are red
Violets are blue
It’s time to move ahead
Our losing ways are through
The win column needs to be fed
We’ll leave that up to moos
Our losing ways are dead
It’s time for the Cougs
… I hope…
I really need some sleep… I know I’m in trouble when I start thinking up poems. I’m in even deeper trouble when I rhyme Moos with Cougs.. Go Cougs!

You speak the truth
On every strike there was a huge cheer from the campus, it was awesome.

If you are in Pullman on a Friday night
I hope when you say Milkshake, you mean lady friend. “My Milkshake brings all the boys to yard.” Halla!
I had a milkshake I really shouldn’t have had.I have heard that line a few times in Pullman. Damn you Beer Goggles!

My most vivid Flix memory was killing time from 12:50-1:00 AM waiting for breakfast service.

That's a recipe for disaster.
I have a horrible McCougar story, but I won’t ruin everyone’s appetite on a gameday.

Argh...
College sports were so much better in college where it was unlikely for me to miss a game for work! The opening game and I have to work at 7pm tomorrow, so I’ll miss most of the 2nd half :(
Welcome to the real world, outside of Pullman…
So excited for the game though… I can’t get to sleep! lol
Just a quick "Thank You"...
to all of the writers and contributers. Between you guys and “the man” Vince, this has been the most informative off season I can remember. And unlike the last 2 years, it’s been news I’ve actually enjoyed hearing. Can’t wait to read some of the analysis now…
Go Cougs!
