GIFs from the first game.
I only have access to what limited highlights I could find, but the three GIFs include the Wilson TD, the Grasu FG and one example of some very poor defense.
Due to file size limits I couldn't upload the entire play, but Tuel wen't through a nice progression with Wilson being his third or fourth read. Great crackback block by Lintz.
This one is just plain ugly. I'm sure Brian and others can break this down better than I can but what I see is pretty simple. OK State LT crashes down the line on the snap for an initial double team on our DT. Our DE is given a free release and quickly gets sucked inside and loses all outside contain. The LT then release off the double team and neutralizes our MLB. He does it so well in fact he blocks him right into our SS taking him out of the play as well. Our FS has a clear shot at the RB but he attempts a twisting shoulder to the leg with no wrap up sort of tackle and promptly bounces off the RB. Our CB gets off the WR block but loses his balance and misses a flailing shoe string tackle allowing the RB to run another 45 yards to the 1-yardline. Brutal.

Nailed it!
I’m glad you posted the ugly play. It was one I watched over and over again, getting more annoyed each time.
Your description of it was right on. The end crashed and lost contain, the MIK got bowled over and we were boned.
Wow. Just wow on that last one.
That play was doomed from the start because of Long losing contain. Holy crap that was horrible. That’s football 101. I always got the impression he was a pretty dang smart player, so I wonder what he thought he saw on that.
Either that, or he was just trying to be superman by that point. Neither is good.
If I hadn't watched him play all last year
I’d conclude he was a horrible player who doesn’t have a clue what his position responsibilities are. We know that’s not the case. Such are the vagaries of drawing too many conclusions from one game, I think.
we call that scenario
The Braidwood
Love this.
I was so excited by the catch the first time, I missed the block by Lintz. They showed the replay and I literally said out loud, “HOLY CRAP HOW DID I MISS THAT RIDICULOUS BLOCK?”. De-cleater.
