UO’s defense vs. WSU’s offense: The Cougars improvement this season has occurred mostly on the offensive side of the ball. WSU is fourth in the conference at 34 points per game compared to last year when it ranked last at 19.6. The Cougars also have improved in total offense from 330.2 yards per game (eighth) to 433.6 (fourth). Fifth-year senior quarterback Marshall Lobbestael has performed well in place of the injured Jeff Tuel. Lobbestael has completed 64 percent of his passes for 248.4 yards per game with 15 touchdowns and five interceptions. Keeping their quarterbacks upright has been an issue for the Cougars, who have allowed 22 sacks, second most in the conference.

Oregon running back Kenjon Barner was knocked out of the game at Washington State last season. He was taken by ambulance off the field and to a hospital where he was diagnosed with a concussion. Barner talks about the hit, the impact it's had him and his family and his future in football.
