Cougars Add Richard Peters to Signing Class - The Washington State University Official Athletic Site
As expected. The 2012 class is now probably complete, although there is one more scholarship available. It's hard to imagine Ken Bone won't keep looking around, but I don't think he's exactly itching to hand out that fifth scholarship to just anyone, either.

What's your opinion on that fifth spot?
Should he add a fifth to the class? That would make a large class and make recruiting year to year a little unbalanced. Remember Bennetts large class? Although there usually is attrition and it works itself out. I think if he can add another big man he should, because big men are not always ready to play right away or they don’t have an immediate impact, unless they are a heralded recruit. A good guard or small forward will play right away as a freshman but big men always take time to develop unless they are elite. With Enquist and Motum leaving soon I think it would behoove him to add another big man. Even the loss of Lodwick at 6’7" will have an impact. Maybe Simon can take that role. We have Shelton who is a work in progress and now Peters. Two 6’10" guys. I looked on Scout for big men recruits and there sure isn’t a lot our there.
We will have okay size for the future, but I think we need one more.
Motum 6"10" (obviously just for next year)
Peters 6’10"
Shelton 6’10"
Longrus 6’7"
Simon 6’8"
Boese 6’7"

What is the deal with Zach Banner?
I am assuming he is going to play football because he is the #8 OT in the nation, but he is also highly recruited in basketball. Lets get Bone and Wulff to offer him to play both sports. By his junior or senior year of college he will probably just stick to one sport. Its funny because on Scout he is listed as a basketball prospect for WSU but not for football. I heard he is leaning towards Michigan.

He's stated he wants to play both.
The only way we’d have a chance is if we offered him in both sports. Even then, we don’t have a chance. I agree though that he’ll play both for a year or two, then realize he’s going to be an elite offensive lineman and his future is football. (Although, 6’9 & 300 lbs? That’s huge.)

Ya you don't see to many 6'9" NFL players.
I think Ogden and Gaithers are 6’9". McKinnie is 6’8". Outside of those guys there are not to many that tall. Sheesh 6’9" is huge for a football player. He might not be done growing, just imagine if he adds a inch or two.

I always create a recruit in NCAA Football
and make him 7’0 and a TE. RED ZONE BEAST

I was surprised that you said a PG.
I could see that next year, because we lose Reggie and Ladd. Is it because you want a play-making sophomore (instead of FR) PG to take over when Reggie graduates? I guess that makes sense and It would be nice, but after next year we will have Woolridge, DKD and Lacy for 3 years. The jury is still out on DKD. We will have other Guards as well, but I wonder if Chuks will get some PT. I don’t see Ballard getting much. The more I talk about it I can see what you are saying because none of the guys I mentioned are true PGs. Lacy could fill the role for a year. I say if you can add another big man in this class then a play-making PG next class, then do that.
How good could next year look? Sure looks more athletic and fun to watch.
-Reggie
-Lacy
-Q. Johnson
-Shelton
-Motum
With Longrus, Woolridge, Ladd, Peters, Dilorio and DKD of the bench

JC PF
That’s where I would try to go with the 5th spot if I could find a solid player that could immediately compete for playing time. That would keep the classes somewhat balanced and give Peters and Shelton more time to grow. Maybe Shelton becomes a true Pac 12 PF in the space of a year at least on defense and rebounding but that’s a risk at this point.
I'd love to have a guy who could allow Moore to play off the ball some next year
And then take over full time.
Speculation at this point
points to Woolridge or Lacy.
Lacy will definitely get some time at the point this year.
I hope they find a quality pg in the next class but I don’t know if it’s a must get.
Maybe it's just me but...
I would like to recruit a very tall center like 7ft at least. I know you can’t just pick and choose to get a player and it’s not easy to get a big athlete. I enjoyed watching Aron Baynes play with his size and strength and keep wishing we can get a giant center. 6’10" is tall but for me 7ft is the ultimate height.

I'd assume, though, if he had a chance to add an impact player, he'd do it.

Correct
DiIorio is great to have in the programs. Works hard and is productive when he gets minutes. However, if you can improve your program you can’t worry too much about walk-on players. They still have weaknesses along the roster.
For the record, I never said I WANTED DiIorio to get the last spot, I just said it looks like that's what's going to happen.
I’ve actually been pretty vocal about letting him see if his has a scholarship option at another school.
Understood
I read that Bone said the same thing on giving the last spot to a walk-on and didn’t read into it that you would like that to actually happen for the last spot.
I think almost everyone would hope Bone can find some knid of PF-type option with the last spot. However, in early October Bone said he expected 2 or 3 players total signed in November. From what I have heard they were obviously hoping for Johnson and 2 of 3 of Boese, Longrus, or Lomomba to add to Peters. I believe it worked out exactly they way they hoped.
Worked out how I wanted it to this fall. Hope it works out in the spring.
