APPLE CUP 2011: Gameday Links

The Apple Cup is finally here. I don't think I need to say much more than that. We all know what this game means, the only thing left in question is after the game will there be a post game GIF/image celebration thread or are we going to have the poop thread sequel?

Feel free to use this as a pregame thread, but we will also be back with more prior to the 4:30 p.m. kickoff including my look at the receiver performance against Utah and how they will fare without Isiah Barton in the Apple Cup. Also, check out the hat Marquess Wilson is wearing in this video, when you rack up more than 1200 yards in 11 games I guess you can wear whatever you want.

Apple Cup 2011: Who's The Better QB, Marshall Lobbestael or Keith Price? - SB Nation Seattle
Bob Condotta of the Seattle Times took a look at Washington Huskies quarterback Keith Price and Washington State's quarterback Marshall Lobbestael Friday, breaking down each of their style and play over the time at their respective schools. Just who's got the upper hand when it comes to the signal caller? Let's take a closer look.

SEATTLE — On a day when two teams will venture to a somewhat unfamiliar battlefield, the University of Washington and foe Washington State are walking familiar ground.

Even when there's nothing on the line, those who've played and coached in the Apple Cup say it can still mean everything.

SEATTLE – The 104th Apple Cup could have been so much more. The Washington State Cougars could have been playing for a bowl game, and the Washington Huskies could have been playing for an upper-level bowl and an 8-4 record.

Apple Cup 2011: Not much at stake for WSU or UW - seattlepi.com
SEATTLE (AP) — When Paul Wulff returned to his alma mater at Washington State he inherited the shell of a football program, beset by poor recruiting, academic sanctions that led to scholarship reductions and a level of apathy.

What to watch in the Pac-12: Week 13 - Pac-12 Blog - ESPN
Nick Holt vs. Marshall Lobbestael: Washington's defense was supposed to be good this year. It hasn't been. Nick Holt is the Pac-12's highest paid defensive coordinator not named Monte Kiffin. Marshall Lobbestael is Washington State's No. 3 QB. He started the season as Jeff Tuel's backup, played well while Tuel was hurt, then was displaced by talented freshman Connor Halliday. But both Tuel and Halliday are hurt for the game, and the gritty Lobbestael now faces Holt's defense. Who wins?

Not a link, but

If you aren’t following @HarveyRoad on twitter this morning, you’re missing one of the best deconstructions of the Husky fan base in recent memory.
