PrintThe time has finally come to welcome Mike Leach to Pullman. At noon, Leach will be formally introduced as head coach of the Washington State Cougars. It's a big day for the athletic department, football team and fan-base as a whole. And we're sure you want to watch it all.
If you're in Pullman, there's still time to saunter over to the CUB Ballroom to greet Leach. The press conference is open to the public and everyone is invited. If you're not in Pullman, you're not out of luck. Leach's introductory press conference will be live-streamed online by Washington State.
The live-stream can be found right here.
The press conference is scheduled to run for an hour, though it may not last that long. Leach will then have a couple "free" hours before heading over to Seattle for a closed meet and greet. A full schedule of events can be found here.
This will also be your open thread. Go nuts, talk about the press conference, celebrate Leach's arrival.

For those wondering about recruiting
I can confirm more than one recruit is still firmly committed. Just awaiting word from Leach himself that they’re wanted.
Which is kind of what I was thinking anyway.
Can’t say for sure all the kids who are committed will stay, but I can’t really see Leach not honoring an offer already on the table.

Not sure what you guys were expecting
Pretty standard stuff. I’m just glad nobody asked about the shed incident or his pending lawsuits, implying that they were of concern to fans.
Would have been nice to have some questions about his offense and how he sees the talent on the roster fitting in … maybe even some questions about how his approach on the defensive side of the ball may have changed.
Overall, though, this is pretty standard stuff. He wasn’t going to come out and say that he wants to piss on dogs or something.
I think that'll happen in the one on one interviews.
One thing I’m REALLY excited about? No talk of the Huskies. They have nothing to do with us, and by not mentioning them, we’re going a long way in growing up from being seen as the Little Brother.

Media will ask better questions in one-on-ones
Big press conferences like this – with such a massive crowd – usually don’t lend themselves well to anything more than some superficial questions…some humor.
Plus, I like the fact he didn’t try and overwhelm everyone…so many times a new hire has a rip-roaring news conference, and then they go out and fail.

No Schedule
Not till the schedule is set Only non-conference and Utah have a date so far. Sign up for season tickets then you have the option to make it as much as you want. The way season tickets are selling it may be hard to get anything very good for single games. Season tickets in the (non-priority) sections are reasonable

Moos announced a few weeks ago
and ESPN brokered deal to open the season at BYU. That Utah game was scheduled years ago, prior to them joining the conference.

That site is out of date
That Utah date was supposed to be a non-conference game that was scheduled a few years ago. Notice in other years that they don’t have our Auburn or Boise games listed.
