Washington State may not be going to the NCAA Tournament, but the NIT might mean that Friel Court gets another chance to see the sweet shot of Klay Thompson.
For College Basketball fans, today is a holiday. Tonight we find out the who is playing who and where they are going. Teams like Washington State are left wishing they would have won a couple more games to be in the conversation (Seriously, can Abe make that three against ASU, can Klay make that jumper against Arizona, can anyone else but Klay and Casto come to play against UW). Teams like Southern Cal are hoping they've done enough. Teams like Washington are just hoping to get a favorable path. UW and USC will have their questions answered at 3pm PST on CBS.
The Cougs will have to wait a few more hours to find out their fate. The NIT Selection Show airs at 6pm PST on ESPNU. It appears that they will be a high seed and potentially host a game in front of a student-less Beasley Coliseum. We're all disappointed that we don't get to watch the big show on CBS in anticipation of our school's name being called, but you have to remember Washington State has not made that many trips to the postseason in its history. Enjoy that they will be playing past the conference tournament. Enjoy that we get the opportunity to watch more of Klay Thompson, and probably in HD on one of the ESPN channels.
Use this thread to discuss some of the conference championship games leading up to Selection Sunday, the selection show on CBS, and the NIT selection show on ESPNU.
Happy Selection Sunday!
