Cougar Baseball Loses to Dallas Baptist - WASHINGTON STATE OFFICIAL ATHLETIC SITE
The final score was 13-4, and after starting the year 5-1, the Cougs have now lost three in a row. Coach Donnie Marbut is not pleased.
"We did not compete at a very high level and when you don't do that you are going to get beat by a good team like Dallas Baptist," Marbut said.
The two-game series -- the Cougs' fifth game in five days --concludes today at 5:30 p.m.

They're actually quite good.
But I agree, it sounds like a church league team. Good thing they’re not Dallas Presbyterian, DP would be a horrible school abbreviation…

Let's hope Marbut has more power within the Clubhouse than Wakamatsu....
If he doesn’t we are in for a long season of baseball.

Is Marbut trying out his freshman pitcher in the preseason to see what he has,
or is it because they were just coming off the Dairy Queen Classic that they put in Taylor Williams?
Little bit of both, mostly because he needed a 4th starter after the tournament.
Taylor is one of the kids in the pen he likes as a starter.

Plagiarism
Hey guys,
In the future, I would appreciate it if you didn’t use quotes from my interviews with Marbut that you weren’t there to attend. Usually, I wouldn’t mind, but since Craig unfairly accused me of plagiarizing last year (even writing in to my editor to get me fired), I’m not comfortable with your site taking quotes from stories. Plus, it’s unethical. Journalism 101 boys.

The quote was copied and pasted from the press release.
Press releases are provided by WSU sports information for this very reason. No plagiarism here, Adam.

If there's a link to the quote
I’m pretty sure it’s not plagiarism.

The quote has a typo in it, so that's embarrassing

English Teacher's in the HOUSE!
I feel like Charlie Brown trying to kick the football. Ugh
This is adorable!
Before you hopped on that moral high horse and accused plagiarism, something we take seriously, you did click the link, correct? You know, the one in big bold letters at the top of the fanshot directing readers to the “WASHINGTON STATE OFFICIAL ATHLETIC SITE” that contains the press release from the WSU Sports Information Department?
So, please, don’t come here spouting “Journalism 101, boys” while calling us unethical. It makes you look like a moron when you didn’t even bother to see where it came from while failing to take the time to understand ethics. Perhaps it’s time to retake Journalism 101, paying close attention to what press releases are and what purpose they serve.
And about that whole thing with Craig. Here’s his. Here’s yours. A little bit different than taking one quote from a press release — again, fair use.

This situation (if there even was one in the first place)
probably could have been handled better, i.e. contacting the author directly instead of calling him out in public and making yourself look like a smartass.

I'm not sure "smartass" is the right word choice
You’re halfway there, though.

I didn't write an e-mail to your editor to "get you fired."
I sent an e-mail to your editor pointing out the similarities in construction and language in the two pieces. I never even used the word plagiarize.
If you heard the word “fired” that must have come from your editor, because it wasn’t even close to the language or tone in which my e-mail was written.

Craig, clearly you are wrong.
