Stephanie Powers (right) poses in a ridiculous outfit with her brother in support of the Washington State football team.
Things have been slow around here (for which I shoulder much of the blame), but I wanted to stop by and send a shout out to my little sister (and CougCenter member) Stephanie Powers.
Stephanie's journey to WSU has been a little different than most, and for a time it looked like she was never going to follow in my footsteps. She spent a year playing community college basketball and pursuing her photography interests and there was some great uncertainty as to what direction she was going. However, her time living in Seattle and doing little more than making her way into countless Mariners and Sounders games has sparked a fire for sports journalism, and what better place to study that then at the nationally-renown Edward R. Murrow College of Communication?
If you are wondering about the odd timing of this acceptance, well you can thank WSU for not realizing that Stephanie's transcripts were connected to Stephanie's application.
But that doesn't matter now, and I am one very proud brother. Congratulations Steph, you can now stop living vicariously through my experience at WSU and make some memories of your own! Another special shout out to my parents, who obviously did a fantastic job instilling the correct values in us as children.
